Hi, I got a CD, clicked on MusicBrainz in Rhythmbox, but MusicBrainz just says it's never heard of the disc ID

how do I add the disc ID?

the album appears to be on MB

Use picard, and do "CD lookup"

or "submit track list" if rhythmbox supports that

sound juicer and picard are the ones I know for sure know how to submit a disc ID.

the CD does not support CD text, I think. all tracks are called Unknown, made by Unknown

but MB says "No release found with the given Disc ID KmnxiywoOw8z8_bSePa3BknLS_U-. Please try again.", shouldn't it normally ask me what album this ID belongs to so I can add it?

at least that's what happened last time I clicked to MB

the tracklist on MB doesn't seem right btw either hawke_ ..

mine seems to have more tracks. I'm guessing I should copy the current release, change it to match my album?

usually if it doesn't let you add the disc id, it means the url wasn't complete

that allows me to add it.. but I guess I can't as the album on MB doesn't match the tracks on my disc

maybe you've got a different version? you can always add a new album

it will detect that? so there won't be several albums with the same name in the list

but I'd like to copy the album that is already there so I don't have to enter *all* information again

you can either add a release and then add the disc id to it, or you can add the release from the cd lookup page

and near the top of the page when you're entering a release, there's a blueish box which has "guess case" and some other things in it... if you click on "configure", you can enable the track parser, where you can copy and paste the track listing

I can just copy it from the browser and it magically finds it

too much work by hand this, there should be a copy-album option for slightly different releases like mine

the lengths will get set from the disc id anyway, so that's ok

yeah, you can just leave them blank

I don't know why, but Rhythmbox now does show the song titles.. that took a while..
