hawke_1: by comparing http://acoustid.org/fingerprint/11156729 http://acoustid.org/fingerprint/11998570 and http://acoustid.org/fingerprint/17473919 I have determined that the link to Big Long Now is incorrect.

So where’d the 93 submissions as “Mexican seafood” come from?
      • 2012-02-29 06019, 2012

      • kepstin-laptop
someone mistagged it a long time ago, and it got passed around?
      • 2012-02-29 06024, 2012

      • kepstin-laptop
        happens a fair bit.
      • 2012-02-29 06021, 2012

and/or there’s an error in the tracklisting on http://musicbrainz.org/release/557393d4-74ae-4833…
      • 2012-02-29 06054, 2012

      • hawke_1
That’s the only way I’ve seen numbers that high before
      • 2012-02-29 06043, 2012

      • kepstin-laptop
i suppose that could have happened. It is a bootleg compilation after all...

Any mac users here know of some tag writing software like easytag that has the tag "scanner"
      • 2012-02-29 06023, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
easytag has this feature where you define a file name -> tag map. like, if you have files such as: 01 - The Artist - The Title.mp3, you just say: "%trackno% - %artist% - %title%.mp3" and it substitutes the field as necessary.

I hate to compromise my library, but the data I'm working with and the time I have to do it are just not agreeing at the moment.
      • 2012-02-29 06042, 2012

      • kepstin-laptop
i would have thought that a mac port of easytag would be available
      • 2012-02-29 06050, 2012

      • kepstin-laptop
it runs on both linux and windows already...
      • 2012-02-29 06019, 2012

      • kepstin-laptop
        hmm, i guess not.

searching for 'homebrew recipes' does not give me what I expected
      • 2012-02-29 06004, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
        well
      • 2012-02-29 06010, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
it gave me what I expected, just not what I wanted.
      • 2012-02-29 06033, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
        easytag is in brew \o/
      • 2012-02-29 06035, 2012

      • nikkimini
I thought picard could do that?
      • 2012-02-29 06055, 2012

      • kepstin-laptop
nikkimini: he wants to fill in the tags based only on info read from the filename
      • 2012-02-29 06009, 2012

      • nikkimini
yeah, and I thought picard could do that :P
      • 2012-02-29 06016, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
I wouldn't dream of putting this release into MBz
      • 2012-02-29 06025, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
the quality is god awful, but I need it within the next two weeks
      • 2012-02-29 06038, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
and I REALLY don't want to research all the artists, I need to be working with the music, like, now.
      • 2012-02-29 06006, 2012

      • nikkimini
under tools > tags from filenames
      • 2012-02-29 06013, 2012

      • nikkimini
and last I checked you could save stuff in the left pane
      • 2012-02-29 06027, 2012

      • nikkimini
(so no need for it to actually be in mb)
      • 2012-02-29 06037, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
        O_o
      • 2012-02-29 06043, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
        wait what really?
      • 2012-02-29 06001, 2012

      • kepstin-laptop
huh, how do you set the filename patterns for that?
      • 2012-02-29 06021, 2012

      • nikkimini
it pops up a window where you can type in a pattern, seems to remember previous ones too
      • 2012-02-29 06041, 2012

      • kepstin-laptop
apparently it does nothing if you have no files loaded
      • 2012-02-29 06046, 2012

      • kepstin-laptop
        which is a little confusing.
      • 2012-02-29 06058, 2012

      • nikkimini
well it expects some files to work with :P
      • 2012-02-29 06024, 2012

      • kepstin-laptop
well, then it should be disabled if there are no files selected so you don't click on it :)
      • 2012-02-29 06033, 2012

      • nikkimini points you to jira then :P
      • 2012-02-29 06014, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
        WOW!
      • 2012-02-29 06014, 2012

      • kepstin-laptop
huh, neat. I really didn't expect picard to have that as a feature.
      • 2012-02-29 06017, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
well would you look at that.
      • 2012-02-29 06023, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
good, I didn't want to use easytag anyways
      • 2012-02-29 06026, 2012

      • nikkimini
        all sorted?
      • 2012-02-29 06026, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
I haven't actually done it yet. Doing like three things at once.
      • 2012-02-29 06030, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
Especially considering how to spend money.
      • 2012-02-29 06038, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
        including*, not epecially
      • 2012-02-29 06028, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
        hmmm
      • 2012-02-29 06030, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
        maybe not
      • 2012-02-29 06003, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
        the files are labeled '[A-Z][0-9]{2} - Artist - Title.mp3'
      • 2012-02-29 06018, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
The A-Z is sorta like a disc number and that's how I'd like to map it. But I don't know if I can automatically.
      • 2012-02-29 06037, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
I'm sure I can't specify %discnumber% and have it actually work
      • 2012-02-29 06010, 2012

      • VxJasonxV
and the 'artist' isn't always there. ugh
      • 2012-02-29 06014, 2012

      • VxJasonxV

(for countries that don't have a amazon tld)?
      • 2012-02-29 06020, 2012

      • reosarevok
        There's a mapping
      • 2012-02-29 06032, 2012

      • reosarevok
Like, NL and SV are DE, etc
      • 2012-02-29 06034, 2012

      • reosarevok
But not sure how it is
      • 2012-02-29 06036, 2012

      • nikki
so mb country = amazon tld?
      • 2012-02-29 06039, 2012

      • reosarevok
        nikki might know
      • 2012-02-29 06017, 2012

      • hrglgrmpf
currently I'm only adding ASIN for DE, UK, FR, etc. where the mapping is obvious
      • 2012-02-29 06032, 2012

      • hrglgrmpf
for e.g. Netherlands it isn't clear, is it?
      • 2012-02-29 06037, 2012

      • hrglgrmpf
        could be DE or UK
      • 2012-02-29 06052, 2012

      • hrglgrmpf
        or Skandinavian countries
      • 2012-02-29 06058, 2012

      • nikki
        let's see...
      • 2012-02-29 06013, 2012

      • hrglgrmpf
I don't know if it is easy to get a mapping for all countries, so I thought about just trying all amazon.XXX until one isn't marked as import

nikki: any idea why when I type "trumpet" in the instrument search, it selects "wind instruments" until I reach the p?
      • 2012-02-29 06041, 2012

      • nikki
        because "instruments" contains "trum"
      • 2012-02-29 06045, 2012

      • nikki
I think you're thinking of the free shipping stuff, aren't you?
      • 2012-02-29 06006, 2012

      • reosarevok
I mean, what's the chance that someone searches from the middle?
      • 2012-02-29 06013, 2012

      • nikki
like .de ships free to austria, belgium, liechtenstein, luxembourg and the netherlands and also switzerland only for some stuff
      • 2012-02-29 06000, 2012

      • nikki

      • 2012-02-29 06011, 2012

      • hrglgrmpf
is that data from your head or is it codified somewhere :-)?
