does anyone here understand how loud a track is when I have comment[1]: REPLAYGAIN_TRACK_GAIN=-3.08 dB
?

Should remasters also have recording-work "performance of" relationships?

On twitter "if you're too lazy to fix your mistake when it pointed out to you, it doesn't become my job to wipe your arse. get fucked #musicbrainz" wtf :p
nikki
I can't quite decide whether that's supposed to be positive or negative :P

Avoiding someone with that behaviour in MB?
reosarevok calls positive
nikki
avoiding who?
to me it reads like someone encountered someone along the lines of a certain editor who tells people he doesn't give a shit and that they should fix his mistakes themselves

yes

To me it feels like "you're not perfect, fuck off"

I suppose it depends whether you read the hash tag as part of the sentence or not
nikki: same guy who earlier said "musicbrainz editors are obnoxious, lazy fuckwads. if you're not going to do something properly and correctly, just fuck the hell off."
So he might be OK with MB itself, but clearly has too high expectations :p
nikki
that makes it sound even more like what I read it as :P
reosarevok
Dunno
But if he has the same style in edit notes, I'd still prefer him not to edit :p
It works now, so chances are pretty high it will make it worse
reosarevok bravely/stupidly clicks
Oh, not too big a change. Good then

it's as annoying as the supermarkets moving things around all the damn time. all that happens is that I can't find what I want and end up going somewhere else where I know where to find it ¬_¬
reosarevok
In the supermarkets it makes sense
As most people will keep looking instead and buy more stuff they see while they look
But in the web? No idea
I guess it makes complaints harder
"Bring back the old Google!" "No, the other old Google!" "No, the other one!"
nikki
it's just confirmation that I'm strange :<
because I don't start buying other stuff just because I have to walk up and down aisles trying to find what I want
I mean, what will I do with random bits and pieces :/ I know what I went for and I know what I plan to do with what I went for
reosarevok
Yeah, and I don't buy less cheap stuff because they make me look down for it
But apparently most people do
Well, I usually go shopping with the idea of "let's find food for the week"
nikki
you're tall though :P
I have to look right up so I can read through my glasses to see what the stuff on the top shelf says
reosarevok
So I *will* pick up random stuff if I feel like eating and it's discounted / cheap enough
(and obviously the more I walk the more of those I might see)
as stated in the edit notes, i believe the release (and all releases in this series) are of cultural significance.

Hey, jabawok
I'm Australian, btw. Though, I don't pay too much attention to Triple J's charts. What did you want to ask?
amino_: What's your rationale... I think it may be argued as redundant, though I think there may be uncommon cases were it would be necessary?

Why does adding a discID to a CD add times to a vinyl?
If they shared a tracklist before adding it, surely it should just become two tracklists?

hi
I was wondering, in the cases of folk/blues songs of traditional/unknown origin, are we supposed to only have one work and use the AR arranger on the recording (easier to see all the versions of a song) or to create a different work for each version (that allows to see more clearly which version has been used by whom) ?
reosarevok would do the latter, but I don't think there's a clear agreement
yeah, I began with the latter but switch to the former after seeing used a lot but, idk, I find more advantages in the original way ^^
reosarevok
I did add a couple things the latter way
(mainly stuff like Led Zeppelin versions of traditional songs, where people afterwards would cover LZ not the traditional song)
But it's a gray area I guess
Sekhmetouserapis
ok
with the latter way, I should use the AR arranger at work level, shouldn't I ?
