ehrgeiz: You don’t need to restart Opera to take a user script to work (you can even edit the script on the fly)
      • kepstin-work and hawke_ Hey thanks to your chatlogs I found this cool tool http://www.jokhan.demon.nl/AudioStats/
      • hawke_: Who doesn’t use Nabble for the style forum ? ;P
      • kepstin-work: DR number seems cool but they say stuff like : « DR Tracks:10 10 9 10 9 8 10 11 9 8 11 10 9 8 (might not be in original order) »
      • (might not be in original order) (._.?) then what’s the use ? :)
      • ianmcorvidae
jesus2099: yeah, we won't be able to use the current DB at all
      • jesus2099: because of the out-of-order problem
      • we'd need to make a new DB
      • jesus2099
I found http://www.jokhan.demon.nl/AudioStats/ through the DR bla bla website but it doesn’t seem to display the DR number…
      • ianmcorvidae
sometimes people put the log output into the 'comment' field and then we could just re-parse it
      • yeah, I'm loading that page now, I'm curious
      • jesus2099
their DB is only useful for a user script to display DR number on release groups, maybe that’s already something nice…
      • or release maybe
      • ianmcorvidae
ideally what we'd do is make a new DB rather than using the http://www.dr.loudness-war.info one whose information isn't very useful
      • one that uses MBIDs
      • jesus2099
ianmcorvidae: it’s a pity, we should tell them to enbetter their DB instead, I think they worked lots already they could be happy to better it…
      • ianmcorvidae
yeah, improving that DB is also an option -- we'd need to find some sort of contact there though
      • jesus2099
BTW here is the foobar2000 DR number calculator, http://www.jokhan.demon.nl/DynamicRange/ :)
      • ianmcorvidae
oh, I'm on linux anyway, I use dr14_tmeter
      • jesus2099
        ianmcorvidae: fancy !
      • ah
      • reosarevok joined the channel
      • reosarevok joined the channel
      • it’s so cool ! even though the live album I’m currently listening to has bad score DR7 :)
      • ianmcorvidae
most of my stuff's had pretty terrible scores
      • only the classical has been good
      • jesus2099
        or the old CDs
      • they sound quiet
      • ianmcorvidae: does your t-mater submit the DR# to that DB ? My fb2k’s DR component can show me the logs etc. but I don’t know if it submits anything (without interaction) I don’t know yet how this DB is contributed…
      • ianmcorvidae
oh, no, there's just an upload form
      • jesus2099
Where you paste the logs ?
      • ianmcorvidae
        dr14_tmeter just generates logs
      • jesus2099: http://www.dr.loudness-war.info/ hit "Upload Form"
      • jmvanel joined the channel
      • you have to fill in all the info yourself but musicbrainz is helpful for it :)
      • if you do upload logs, paste them into the "comment" field as well; if you do that it's possible to know which tracks have which DR ratings exactly
      • jesus2099
ianmcorvidae: they should make it better indeed… all the info could be parsed from logs (including sound source format and exsact track order)
      • ianmcorvidae
        yeah
      • adding a field for the musicbrainz release MBID would also make it super-easy to get good information
      • I doubt they can get things like the label code from the logs, for example
      • jesus2099
ianmcorvidae: Im trying to submit http://musicbrainz.org/release/3b022f88-6c4d-44... as a test’
      • ianmcorvidae: THEM CRAZEY ! I fill in many stuff, hit submit and they just blank the page and say«  Not all necessary information has been provided. »
      • ianmcorvidae
jesus2099: if you just pull it back up or hit back the info should be there, at least it was for me when I did it
      • but you're right, their site isn't particularly well-written
      • jesus2099
I must have done wrong by unhide the form again, I lost everythings
      • Oh got it with many BACK buttons now
      • WE CAN’T select Source : CD… ok I ripped it to FLAC and will select FLAC then :) rescanning… ( ¬_¬)
      • ianmcorvidae
yeah, it's saying the digital format for source
      • jesus2099
ianmcorvidae: but I first scanned without ripping the CD to "digital format" :)
      • ianmcorvidae
        ah
      • well, internally it probably ripped it in some format
      • better to know exactly :)
      • jesus2099
      • Kryztof joined the channel
      • ianmcorvidae: I tried to submit twice to see what happens,; what happanes is duplicate reports :) http://www.dr.loudness-war.info/index.php?searc...
      • ianmcorvidae
        yeah
      • their DB needs a lot of improvement :)
      • jesus2099
ianmcorvidae: internally it’s just LPCM, I don’t think fb2k converts to any temporary FILE format ;)
      • ianmcorvidae: If you want here is the logfile for a CD, compare with the end of FLAC log http://www.dr.loudness-war.info/details.php?id=...
      • Samplerate: 44100 Hz
      • Channels: 2
      • Bits per sample: 16
      • Bitrate: 1411 kbps
      • Codec: CDDA
      • ianmcorvidae
        ah
      • jesus2099
In foobar2000, all inputs are codecs that throw sound to main engine where then you can have several outputs too
      • or DSP
      • great, isn’t it ? :)
      • this lastproject user is spam thing ?
      • ianmcorvidae: someone from MB tested it, (maybe kepstin-work from yesterday as it’s some anime OST stuff) http://www.dr.loudness-war.info/details.php?id=... ← there is MBID over there (I should have pasted it too)
      • ianmcorvidae
ah, yeah, I didn't put MBIDs in my uploads either
      • jesus2099
ianmcorvidae: which one is yours ?
      • ianmcorvidae
(Every Little Thing - ACOUSTIC : LATTE; moumoon - SPARK; Wise Guys - Zwei Welten; Perfume - JPN)
      • jesus2099
ianmcorvidae: Hey by the way why do they even say that « (might not be in original order) » ?? the logs are always in correct order I don’t see how could someone submmut random tracks ?
      • ianmcorvidae
some of mine have been switched-around, actually
      • ianmcorvidae sees if I can find any examples of that
      • TLP|AFK joined the channel
      • oh, bah, I didn't include the logs with all of mine
      • jesus2099
        someone /kickass TheLastProject
      • ianmcorvidae: T-meter submits random order ?
      • submits→logs
      • ianmcorvidae
no, it's been largely in the right order
      • I know I saw one of mine do track 2 before track 1 though
      • maybe it didn't log it that way though
      • TheLastProject
How the hell would I be "rejoining" often? I never lost connection >.>
      • reosarevok
TheLastProject, are you in Windows 7?
      • (it sometimes does that to me)
      • TheLastProject
reosarevok: No, Arch Linux x64. I'm running the ZNC daemon locally to keep me connected to IRC but GNOME3 started going all stupid and forced my screen resolution to 640*480 and I couldn't manage to fix that >.>
      • reosarevok
GNOME3 was stupid from the getgo :p
      • warp
TheLastProject: you mostly have a lot of nick changes. I indeed don't see many rejoins.
      • TheLastProject
reosarevok: It's nice to use, but the stability can surely be improved
      • And some design ideas are just... insane
      • reosarevok had more issues with that, yeah
      • reosarevok
"Oooh, thanks for changing my trusted desktop to something that seems designed for a tablet"
      • reosarevok just installs xfce now when he installs linux
      • TheLastProject
warp: Ah, that makes more sense. I don't think ZNC can be told to change nick when the connection is lost for longer, it seems to either do it directly or not
      • reosarevok: The only design issue that really bothered me was the lack of Shut Down in the menu
      • The "Activities" menu is actually pretty nice once you get used to it
      • reosarevok
Dunno, I mean, yeah, I *could* try to get used to it
      • TheLastProject
Oh yeah, and tray icons can be improved
      • They behave so... inconsistent
      • Sometimes a click opens the program, sometimes it shows the last notification
      • And yeah =/
      • reosarevok
But why should I have to? There seems to be no great benefit that requires everyone to change to their latest design masturbation
      • reosarevok shrugs
      • TheLastProject
I find it to be much faster than clicking programs in the task bar and it gives a nice overview
      • But to each their own, I guess :P
      • reosarevok
anyway, for now Steam and games are keeping me in Win7 - when win8 arrives I guess I'll scream and run back to linux :p
      • (please Steam be working well in linux by then)
      • TheLastProject
reosarevok: You know that the Steam for Linux beta is likely to be released in September for Beta testers, right? :P
      • reosarevok
        Yeah
      • TheLastProject
        (Still takes too long, imho)
      • reosarevok
But I suspect most of the games won't be magically ported to Linux in September
      • (as in: the ones I have paid for for Windows)
      • TheLastProject
Probably not, but hopefully we'll start with a fair amount of games and it'll be a success
      • Mineo
the binding of isaac actually works better for me when I play it via steam in wine :P
      • reosarevok
Oh, I'm fairly sure it will be a success in the mid term
      • Short term maybe not that much, but still
      • I assume Valve are counting on that
      • JoeLlama joined the channel
      • TheLastProject
I don't think VALVe will go all ID software on us :P
      • "Nobody on Linux plays Quake Live, it's not worth spending time on the platform"
      • >Implying Linux doesn't have enough arena shooters
      • >Implying the Linux launcher even worked properly
      • reosarevok
        heh
      • TheLastProject
Did they even advertise having Linux versions?
      • Before Quake Live, which didn't work, I didn't even know ID software had any...
      • reosarevok
I doubt they advertised that back in the day
