soehest: it will allow the release to be found by cd rippers. either ones with direct musicbrainz integration or plain ones via the http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/FreeDB_Gateway
hello, I've retrieved some tags from musicbrainz that contains 'Performer [instrument]: musician'
I can't find the way to enter similar tags with picard, dos anyone know how to do it ?
luks
you enter performer:instrument as the tag name
if you mean how to add them manually in picard
the best way is of course to just add the data to musicbrainz and let picard do it automatically
MrMagne
when I do that the "edit value" button turns grey
luks
let me try
wow, well that's a bug then
CatCat
ryanair is a bow full of cocks. i have to restart my browser in order for the site to allow me to do internet boarding more than once. because heaven forbid I have more than one ticket to do!
this was a massive amount of "oh cock"
MrMagne
luks: ok, that's what I thought :) should I report it somewhere ?
luks
MrMagne: no, I'll fix it right away
MrMagne
luks: great ! :)
what was the other solution ? If i create an account on musicbrainz I can edit on the site ? is that it ?
luks
MrMagne: yes
and that's the preferred method, because it will help the next person to get the same data
that's the whole idea of musicbrainz that if everybody does little work, there will be a more complete database for everybody else to use
MrMagne
ok, will try that later so (I thought about uploading the info from picard once I modified my database, but I can try the other way around)
MrMagne: It's not really possible to "upload" that kind of data from Picard to MusicBrainz, only for Picard to download it *from* MusicBrainz. :/
MrMagne: One of the many projects MusicBrainz' few developers are working, is one that allows people to edit from outside the site. Which, for example, could be uploading data from Picard.

Any life hackers around with a grand idea of how to place a cooling pad/bad on ones back and have it stay there while still being abl to sit/stand/walk upright?
*able
warp
Freso: duct tape?
Freso
Possibly. I'm imagining it will be hard to place the tape though.

Is human beatoxing an "other" vocal, or... ?
warp
it wasn't a serious suggestions.
s/s.$/./
Lotheric
Freso, I'd leave it as vocal
Freso, "other" doesn't add any info
warp
Freso: I have no idea what a cooling pad is.
Freso
Lotheric: It distiguishes it from the non-other vocal (ie., the rapper :)).
warp: Something you place on sore muscles. Most usually after sport injuries.
Lotheric
I wish there was some way to specify raps apart from singing
Freso
(But in this case, on a generally overtensed muscle. :()
Lotheric: Yep.
Lotheric: Perhaps we should just start opening STYLE RFCs for each individual vocal type. :p
Lotheric: Doesn't seem like there's a lot of progress happening on the overall vocal tree restructuring.
Lotheric
It's a can of worms
Freso
It is.
Which is why it might make sense to do a few suggested additions at a time.
Instead of trying to do everything at once.
Lotheric
yep
Freso
As long as people don't open 20 tickets at the same time.
