Anyway, I guess the point I was getting at (with Tchaikovsky): Is the reason that Estonian excludes the middle name, because Estonians only have first/last? or just because no one bothered to add the middle name?

hawke_1: from my experience, Americans using Name1 Initial Name2 is reasonably common (not a majority thing maybe but still common) while elsewhere it's nonexistant, except in Russia where it's the same in a different way

also, second names are never in wikipedia introduction, and middle names are :)

mknjc_: you don't need to *exactly* recreate them by hand, in that just going there and selecting "add new recordings" for each one will do that itself

I don’t *use* that name, but it’s still there.

hmm. the canadian application apparently is requesting "Surname (last name)", "Given name(s)", "Surname (last name) at birth", "Former surname (former last name)", and "Mother's maiden name"

A Russian one seems to use the same as the American one too, Surname / Given names (which I expect is anyway an international convention) in both Cyrillic in Latin with "Given names" seemingly always including the patronymic in Cyrillic but only sometimes (maybe for old ones?) in Latin

Which makes sense, since I think Tchaikovsky and, to some level, Lenin are the only two Russians for which I've often seen the patronymic being used when using their names in Latin script

I've pretty much never seen it used for, say, Stravinsky or Prokofiev in Latin
