VxJasonxV: Where were the docs for the advanced GitHub hooks docs again?
Some JSON interface thing...

hiho, small question about a deluxe edition: my brother baught this release http://www.amazon.de/Beatsteaks-Ltd-Edition/dp/... which is a box containing the cd, vinyl+downloadcode and some bonus cd and other bonus material
should i add all the mediums? the album itself is included 3 times. as a cd, vinyl and digital

if it were just the cd with a download code this would have been a nobrainer, but now i’m not sure what to do
warp
yeeeargh: yes!
yeeeargh
warp: yes! as in 3 times the same medium just with a different format?
warp
yeeeargh: I'm not sure about the downloadcode, if someone doesn't download it, it isn't part of the release for them.
the download code is coupled to the vinyl. so i guess i could skip the digital release since it seem that this is common to do with vinyl+downloadcode
warp
if the download code gets you a download which can also just be purchased, I wouldn't bother adding it. If it is unique to this release, that would be a more interesting situation.
yeeeargh
yeah,... that whole downloadcode situation is a bit weird since it’s handled in a different ways depending on the release and the content of the download itself
but i'll add this release without the digital medium for now
warp
perhaps the key thing is "code"
yeeeargh: what if the release contained a voucher with which you could separately obtain another physical copy (casette? :) of the same album.
yeeeargh
if the "code" would contain other bonus material instead of a copy of the release itself you would add the bonus material as a seperate medium i guess
warp
yeeeargh: we'd probably enter that a separate release, even though it is only available to those who obtained the first release.
yeeeargh
good point
i guess it's hard to cover each and every case, let alone the cases people come up with in the future
but the web interface allows you to select events now
errr, that was the case last we talked too
but you need it for things like the IRC hook and what not
so, yeah, ^^^

Hi all, I'm in the process of setting up musicbrainz-server on OSX Mavericks. Is this the right place where I can ask a question or two?
derwin
yes
Freso
gcw: I would probably ask in #musicbrainz-devel - but here probably works as well.
gcw
alrighty, I'm attempting to make postgressql-musicbrainz-collate but it's trying to include a header file from libicu that make can't find
specifically: unicode/utypes.h
But I have icu install via homebrew and the file exists
Even specifying the direct include path to make fails
Freso
(One reason to use -devel is that ianmcorvidae is in there and not here, and he's one of the people that can help with those things you ask about. :))
gcw
Ok, if you don't know, I can try there

here is ok, -devel is marginally better
gcw
hehe, ok. Well, any ideas before I jump over to -devel?
Freso
Yeah. Most people here are also in -devel.
(And vice versa, if you needed that spelled out. :p)
Even if there are some exceptions.
gcw: I would probably ask the question in -devel and then leave your IRC client open for some hours and see if anyone responds.
People are in different timezones with differing schedules, so those who may be able to respond, may not be around this very second. (E.g., I asked a question at 16:30 my time today and got the reply at 23:00.)
gcw
ok, probably doesn't help that I'm asking at the start of a weekend either, eh? :p

The People Who Know(tm) are still around, but the delays may be a bit longer. :)
