2 digital mediums?

Is that report of old-style-Discogs links still up somewhere, or was it worked through?

hello, im working on a new music related app and wondering if there are limitations to what kind of 3rd party app can use images or data from musicbrainz/cover art archive?

re: marketplaces, stores, etc.

been working using discogs but discovering the 1k limit seems to be a deal breaker for me. looking to switch over to musicbrainz

Nope.

They don't resolve to anything on Discogs (because backwards compatibility? Psh!) and most of the names are ambigious.

I mean, it's probably possible to do, by traversing the release they appear on and artists they appear with for their Discogs IDs and then cross-reference with Discogs to fine an ANV matching the original artist in a place that matches MB data... but if you write a bot like that, please don't limit it to just fixing old Discogs URLs. :)

Freso: to be fair, they implemented backwards compatibility as best they could, the poor choice of original url scheme meant it was never going to be perfect

am I being over-simplistic? it seems to me like you create a collaboration artist if that artist has relationships. a home page, members, or whatever.

Mineo: from what I remember, modbot waits 24 hours after the last edit closes and the script runs once a day, so somewhere between 24 and 48 hours

In general it seems to me that finding the guidelines for ARs is difficult

if there were an easy way to do it, I'd have made a single-page version of the guidelines by now

but without fancy plugins, you can't transclude sections, only whole pages

one of my friends got a cell phone charm from korea, the string had a plug attached which fit into the headphone jack on the phone

to work around modern smartphones from korea not having loops to attach them :)

Just because they happen to name their group in the format of "ArtistA & ArtistB" rather than "The SG" doesn't make it less of a genuine group.
