I'm looking at modifying mediatomb to make better use of musicbrainz tags. If the artists tag is "deadmau5 feat. Chris James", I can't parse that for two entries as separator is undefined. If I use the 'artists' tag, I'm given "deadmau5;Chris James" with a well defined separator, but not in sort order. As a last resort, I could use 'musicbrainz_artistid' and do a resolve to sortname

The sort order thing, I don't know :) Generally I don't see the point of sort order in general though so I haven't looked into it much :)
My music library has over 700 artist names and I'm rather unhappy with how mediatomb parses and sorts it. I'm looking at that extension now, thanks

I caught one of my customers manually entering <first letter of family name> into the genre field in itunes, so that his library would sort the way he wanted it to.
