As usual, I'm more into the comments. "Now that they are finding dinosaur remains that aren't even fossilized maybe people will wake up to the fact [of creationism]"
hibiscuskazenek1
Dave Mustaine has become known for his religious rants lately. Those comments aren't totally out of the blue.
Nyanko-sensei: ~1 hour. (It's using the hourly replication packages, so MB first has to put out the hourly package, and then notlob has to import it, but it should "never" be more than 2 hours out-of-sync, unless something's gone wrong.)
Nyanko-sensei
roger that
adding a ton of ISRC's from stuff I could rerip
Freso
Neat.
I wish we had more obvious ways of adding ISRCs (and ISWCs and all the other industry "standard" identifiers), as MB is the only open db for them.
Nyanko-sensei
yeah...
when I was younger, I didn't save the cue/log files after ripping...
Freso
But then again, it's also so far removed from the reality of most of our "everyday" users, that far most of them likely do not even know that those identifiers exist. :)
Anyway. Post-workout shower. Bbiab.

Mac chargers are poorly designed and last about a year on average (at least for me)
there's "While we welcome bootlegs, we discourage adding home-made compilations or mixtapes. "
reosarevok
We have so many pages I keep forgetting which is which
Oh, where's that one? :)
Freso
^
CallerNo6
from doc/Beginners_Guide
Freso
Like anyone reads that. Psh.

Like anyone knows the difference between bootlegs and home-brew compilations.
(well, in the broad sense that MB uses "bootleg")
hibiscuskazeneko
true dat
reosarevok
Oh. Yeah, beginners' guide is so tl;dr I actually have recommended some beginners not to bother reading it :p
(which is kinda sad really)
CallerNo6
yeah, but that particular recommendation has been around so long that it's part of the oral tradition.
Freso
reosarevok: I'm glad "(re)writing docs" is not part my job description. :|
reosarevok
Heh
CallerNo6
it's a descent into lovecraftian madness. who wouldn't want to do that?
reosarevok
I mean, I think we should just have the how tos to be honest
What's the point of the beginners guide supposed to be?
It's not like you can read it and start editing, since the stuff is confusing and you'll need the specific help :p
Freso
Someone suggested doing video tutorials. I would love to do that/have that done.
CallerNo6
ideally, a "beginner's guide" could be made by stringing together a subset of how-tos.
Freso
I would do it myself, but I'm not sure I'd be the best voicing for it.
reosarevok hates video tutorials so he won't be volunteering for those :p
reosarevok
(video anything is always longer, slower and more boring than just reading, in my experience)
Freso
reosarevok: I'm not a huge fan as well, but some people swear by them, and they would be useful for "how to add a release", "how do I use X userscript", ...
I completely agree.
CallerNo6
screenshots are bad enough (in terms of quickly becoming out-of-date). videos are a really bad ration of effort-to-useful-lifespan.
oops, "ratio"
Freso
CallerNo6: Sure. Which is why I'm not suggesting spending money on it. But it would be neat if a volunteer could be found who would like to do it. Some people do enjoy this kind of thing. Crazy as it may seem.
Just like some people apparently enjoy spending hours upon hours on meticulously entering nit-picky details about fringe music acts into random databases on the interwebs.
Crazy people, I tell you.
JesseW
Shocking, that.
:-)
darwin
I would love to be able to point someone towards a import from discogs etc. userscript
reosarevok
You mean a video of it?
darwin
right, video / tutorial /anyhthing
reosarevok
I mean, in general it'd be nice if scripts writers would include a short tutorial on their use when relevant
But I guess that'd be a dev willingly documenting something :p
