basically, I corrected the artist before the end of adding the release, but it didn't seem to work...

the change auto-applies for artists, but not recordings, I guess?

Lotheric: they say that the TitleStyleWithFunkyCaps is progressively loosing terrain par rapport à the more simple Sentence case (modern style) http://www.mus.ulaval.ca/roberge/gdrm/03-majus.htm :) let’s be modern here too ? ;)
bitmap: I made a pull request for you to add Fast cancel edits in your bitbucket. And now server errors are not silent any more. I tested it on your sandbox, if you want to see how ERROR looks, just change « url: $self.attr("href"), » to « url: "/dddd/" + $self.attr("href"), » and go cancel some edits in your sandbox. :)

Assuming you want "Sweet Brown: No time for bronchitis." :p

CatQuest | AND WHY CAN'T I ADD A WIKIPEDIA LINK TO Recording — that's not due to the database model though. The database model would be fine with this, but it just hasn't been set up.
flac already does all this and is not limited to 4 tracks :/

Tell it to NI and e-shops [especially, to Beatport, who refused to provide FLACs in the store]... :(
2015-08-03 21552, 2015
pankkake
it looks like they use .mp4 containers, so I suppose Picard already supports it?
2015-08-03 21559, 2015
darwin
sigh, beatport.
2015-08-03 21517, 2015

also, native instruments? are you tagging for traktor user?

beatport doesn't sell flacs? they sell wavs or something?
2015-08-03 21524, 2015

pankkake: yeah, wavs.

most software interprets multiple tracks in FLAC as separate audio channels, but it could be used like it, yes

pankkake: >>"beatport doesn't sell flacs? they sell wavs or something?" and AIFFs (wtf?!)
2015-08-03 21547, 2015

as long as it's a lossless format it kind of doesn't matter. can be converted to others :P
2015-08-03 21540, 2015
xplt
yes, but what about metadata [especially in WAVs]? :P
2015-08-03 21548, 2015
chungy
that's what Picard is for!
2015-08-03 21556, 2015

No, you don't undestand

oh?
2015-08-03 21531, 2015

actually I'd kind of like Picard to support Matroska (*.mkv/*.mka) but I haven't looked much into it. It should be completely trivial for one-track-per-file, but my dream is to have more complicated whole-album tagging with each track (chapters in mka) having their unique elements.

xplt: well, isn't beatport the one that adds (original version) to everything and turns feat. or any other thing into &?
2015-08-03 21523, 2015
xplt
Nevermind
2015-08-03 21531, 2015
reosarevok
They don't seem to care about metadata much, even if they had flacs :(
2015-08-03 21553, 2015
reosarevok
I guess there's a chance it'd come with stuff like producer tags, but I doubt it
2015-08-03 21559, 2015
chungy
I don't even like bandcamp's naming/tags, but they do provide FLAC.
2015-08-03 21516, 2015
chungy
but kind of the whole point of MusicBrainz is to get some consistency... and Picard can rename/tag using it.
2015-08-03 21524, 2015
xplt
reosarevok: they supply it in AIFFs, but it really sucks, that I have to run Audacity everytime, I shop there (though, it's rare: I prefer other shops)
2015-08-03 21545, 2015
chungy
you don't need audacity to convert them, heh
2015-08-03 21501, 2015
xplt
Oh?
2015-08-03 21521, 2015

If you're comfortable with command line, sox or ffmpeg will both do nicely.

"ffmpeg -i somefile.aiff somefile.flac"
2015-08-03 21559, 2015
xplt
nah: Too lazy. Plus, with Audacity I can see the meta stuff
2015-08-03 21509, 2015
darwin
why would you use ffmpeg to do that?
2015-08-03 21516, 2015
chungy
why not?
2015-08-03 21532, 2015
darwin
reosarevok: yes, beatport also adds "(Original Mix)" to everything
2015-08-03 21552, 2015
darwin
chungy: I think you need uh.. mutagen to support mkv
2015-08-03 21501, 2015
reosarevok
Oh, it was "mix" :)
2015-08-03 21524, 2015
chungy
yea I looked into that before, but I was kind of reaching too far with whole albums in a single file. :P
