the album was bundled with a game release on kickstarter.
it has printed on it 2015-11-10, but the game wasn't actually shipped to backers until march 2016.
kepstin notes that the original japanese verison of that release, https://musicbrainz.org/release/199c8b8b-20f6-4732-bb11-813970c98452 - which was also bundled in a limited edition version of the game - uses the game release date.
(i'm not sure what's actually printed on it, haven't seen album art for that version)

kepstin: assuming it's a physical release I'd go with the ship date.
(and assuming it was shipped with the physical game)
kepstin
it was bundled in the physical game package, yeah
shipping date... is actually hard to find
hawke1
That title hurts me though
kepstin
there's no single ship date
hawke1
Is there no kickstarter update to say 'we're shipping'?
common term used in japanese for basically arranging a new recording based on the same underlying work.
as opposed to remix, where samples from the original are normally used, this is completely new recordings.
hawke1
I'm surprised I don't see more search results for that then.
Are they just uncommon?
heh, "This album was released as a bonus item, included with the limited edition first printing of the PC version of the game released on 28 April 2004 by Key Sounds Label bearing the catalog number KSLA-0010, though this was later corrected to KSLA-0011"
kepstin
mostly seen in the doijin music scene
where people make arrange albums of songs from games, etc.
this album is actually kind of inspired by that doijin scene arrange thing - they decided to make an official one as well

hawke1
gotcha
kepstin
it really annoys me that the english version of this album uses the same catalogue number as the japanese one did
so i guess it must have been an unlisted bonus track on the japanese version as well
yeeeargh has quit
hawke1
kepstin: Do you happen to know if they reissued/reprinted the KSLA-0011? or was it just corrected in their catalog?
i.e. should that release be in MB as KSLA-0010 with an annotation or should there be two releases, KSLA-0010 and KSLA-0011?
kepstin
I suspect that it was reprinted partway through the original run, so people with early copies have the -0010 version, and later copies have the -0011 version.
hawke1
That'd make sense -- probably should be in as two releases then I guess, even though they're the same release in a sense.
kepstin
I'd just put an annotation about the catalogue number mixup for now
hawke1
It'd certainly be better to have 0010 cover art before adding it, I guess
kepstin
heh, the actual -0010 release is a piano arrange album featuring music from the company's previous games.
and -0012 through -0014 are assigned to a 3-disk soundtrack release for the game (which I also have via this kickstarter)
interestingly, they just shipped me a copy of the japanese release of the soundtrack, it's not a re-done or updated version like they did with mabinogi
(I think the soundtrack was still in print, while mabinogi was a long out of print limited edition thing)
