DaVu: Also, Kodi is getting better at handling music metadata for each version, and I thought the most recent release already was able to deal with multiple artists.
And zag is not here right now to confirm. :/
DaVu
Freso: it is
It was 50% PEBKAC
Need to find a switch to only show what I want Kodi to show and therefore editing tags isn't necessary
if that's in their database, it's likly they're using your data :]
Lotheric
hehe I didn't think of that
Agloe isn't in our areas (phew!)

Lotheric: Maybe someone held a concert at Agloe General Store at one point.
Lotheric
the musicbrainz test artist held a concert there ? :)

SothoTalKer
phew, i need to stop slacking and do more musicbrainz edits.
Freso
You and everyone else in the world.
SothoTalKer
for enhanced CDs, we totally ignore the data track, right?
Freso
No.
If there's music on it, we add those as tracks as well.
(Incl. videos.)
SothoTalKer
https://musicbrainz.org/release/8686d6ce-be90-4... - this actually an enhanced CD and track 6 is a video. if you look at the history it was first added with 6 tracks, but the last got removed some time ago
i could not find much in the documentation on how/when to add information for data tracks of enhanced CDs

ok, it's in the style guide, but the term "Enhanced CD" is missing.
Freso: i cancelled my open edit for the above release, no need to have it probably fail later :))
Freso
SothoTalKer: Sorry. I looked at the edits to see whether you had already entered something before making the edit, but apparently you did it between my looking and my entering. :/
SothoTalKer: I wanted to do it so I could point you at it to show you how to do it in the future. :|
Guess that wasn't needed...
SothoTalKer
it's all good. :D
i did search for other releases with "enhanced cd" format and looked at some of those for an example
time to make it green in my notes :x
Freso
?
SothoTalKer
Freso: i got a list of some releases where some information is missing/wrong. and those I update.
Freso
Ah.
SothoTalKer
red is for releases where i haven't found enough information, usually because discogs does not have it and web resources are scarce.
Freso is about to add a couple of "red" releases

SothoTalKer: Note that it's possible to denote the quality of the data.
SothoTalKer
yeah
Freso
So if you add a release with little to no data, you can set "data quality" to "low".
reosarevok
Completely unrelated but: http://tv.eenet.ee/hirv.html live deer camera in the Estonian forest! :) lots of them around now
what should the artist for the release be here? "Denis Hasert / Dirk Sid Eno feat. Aquarius Heaven" makes it look like Denis Hasert isn't also featuring Aquarius Heaven, which it is.
but "Denis Hasert feat. Aquarius Heaven / Dirk Sid Eno feat. Aquarius Heaven" looks insane.
reosarevok
I'd use the second option
It doesn't look insane to me, it looks true :p
darwin
heh, ok.
colbydray: ^^^ beatport's way of crediting ends up misleading here
darwin fixes
Freso
SothoTalKer: I like that MB is the only of the music databases that have these, yes.
hmm. one improvement would be extra edit fields for each edit
*edit note fields
if i make many changes, they are split into different edits, sometimes the edit notes refer to only a part of the changes.

awesome, thanks!
SothoTalKer
there is not much of a voting culture in musicbrainz, right? :x

it's a difficult thing to have, in general

I prefer editing to voting

fixing stuff that I care about
it must be the case for many editors
darwin
I focus mostly on adding new entities, new releases, and new relationships to external databases
MajorLurker
Don´t do much voting myself, if I come across something whilst editing something else I will vote. And if there is plenty of proof provided, and I can, I will approve edits.
I remember waiting 6 days for stuff to take......
Some editors do a lot of voting though, so that´s a good thing.
