If it does not belong there? I would just make a new release / copy the wrong medium over to that (add disc - existing disc). Then delete the second medium from the one you pointed me to.

I use MediaMonkey to rip CD's. The problem with that (well not really a problem most of the time), is that it uses freeDB data to populate.
2017-05-28 14831, 2017
Major_Lurker
With every new schema the freeDB thingy (whatever the technical term is) breaks.
2017-05-28 14848, 2017
Major_Lurker
So I enter data to MB but MediaMonkey cannot see it.
2017-05-28 14826, 2017

With the absence of Chirlu (who usually fixes it), I don't know how long I will have to wait.

So.... does anybody know of a great ripper that takes the data direct from MB (is that even possible?)
Lartza: I just setup a music-brainz mirror server, which is awesome btw

Lartza
Eh, debatable :P
2017-05-28 14836, 2017

You either spend a long time setting it up, use stupid docker or use even stupider docker inside a VM, and it doesn't even let you configure sensible stuff like HTTPS easily and doesn't work at all
2017-05-28 14839, 2017
Lartza
So yeah
2017-05-28 14853, 2017

what does the search-server (java) give you over and above the musicbrainz-server?
2017-05-28 14802, 2017

But each to their own :P
2017-05-28 14839, 2017

2017-05-28 14855, 2017
Lartza
But, the mirror uses a search server already you don't need your own
Lartza: so request goes from client app -> musicbrainz mirror -> musicbrainz.org search server?
2017-05-28 14805, 2017

searches go to MB's servers, yes (unless/until you install a local search server). lookups and browse requests use your local install.

That I don't know. Try asking in #metabrainz, where you're more likely to get the attention of one of the devs (although with time zones you may need to wait a bit for a reply)

anyone making unsupported statements is.. making unsupported statements. I can hear artifacts in 128k mp3 sometimes, but high bitrate mp3, never heard anything I thought was identifiably a mp3 artifact.
