'change the style'? to me, that's what pop/jazz/trad/etc does. It encourages you to take a song and adapt it to your own style. For me, the difference would need to be pretty big.

if you don't actually add anything of substance toit, what's the point of remixing it in the first place

be aware of that "remix menas different things"

it can mean remixing a songby some guy

it can mean "mashup" where it is one song and another song of maybe even an differnt band

an it can mean "have the master tapes, and soundguy re-mixed the songs differently for the 25 aniversary of the release" or somethingl ike that

E.g., https://musicbrainz.org/artist/fca7fa6a-31ff-45... is only added for bridging a number of other artists together.
