(fun fact unrelated to the new release, I've been using it because it uses its own codecs instead of system codecs, which avoids huge android security holes and allows you to use Opus on older devices)

SothoTalKer, I tend to dislike/ignore a lot of those "DON'T USE THIS FOR RELEASES" disambig if they appear prominently on the case.

I think some of those disambiguation comments have also been set without any real discussion around it, where someone considers it as not a "release label", even though we have no guidelines around what that means.

ok, it still uses its own codecs, it just forgot my media directory settings, huge relief for me

and more on-topic: yeah if you do contradict the disambig comment, at least you're adding information that probably wasn't there, and if it's not perfect it's hopefully at least in one place and that editor who's knowledgeable enough to declare not to use the label will know how to best fix it

In general I really wish there was more music library software that made good use of MusicBrainz tags. It seems incredibly rare, you'd think FOSS music library apps would jump on it.

And I don't know of any maintained players that use it.

Maybe that would be the key to riker. Just build it on top of beets!
