if there's two versions of a CD, and they're identical except for a single track which 1) has like 0.1 seconds longer silence before the song begins, and 2) has a slightly lower peak volume in the loudest part of the song

is that worth making a separate recording for, or should I just let the two AcoustIDs both associate to the one "recording"

if I am not mistaken it is considered the same but I dont know for sure

reosarevok: is the period after the number from any style guide?

Not specifically, no - I always think the stuff looks super weird otherwise, but :D

Like the number was "7 Recitative"

yeah, I agree that it looks weird, but that's how it's presented on both the back cover and the booklet

ok, thanks. I don't have a strong opinion, and you and Major_Lurker seem to both prefer a period after the number, so I'll make a voteable edit changing it to that
"till" is a not-uncommon spelling in my experience, which to me suggests all the more that we should be capitalizing clippings like that as though they were full words.

well.. it's all caps

I'm ignoring the capitalization on the release, since that's not usually a good indicator of how we should capitalize. :P

We also don't write untill, but we still right 'till. Or till. Or til. Capitalizing it "'til" is making the assumption, basically, that the word is still "until" in the speaker's and reader's minds. I think it both looks better and makes more sense to capitalize it as though it's a full word.

funny thing is that the logic to "making the assumption, basically, that the word is still "until"" is exactly the reason I'd *not* capitalize it :o
