So many artists just have one discogs relationship or one album credited, it's so hard to determine if they're the same person or not so to stay on the safe side if I was unsure I stored the name and won't touch the existing person in the db
      • 2019-06-05 15628, 2019

      • zarcade_droid
Though, in order to test properly the release upload I'd need the test.musicbrainz.org db to be rather up-to-date, when does that get updated?

what's the policy with respect to itunes playlists ? I was adding what I thought was a compilation album when I noticed it's actually a playlist (just after assigning the appropiate recordings even)

      • 2019-06-05 15600, 2019

      • CatQuest
yes! when doing the relationships, you link the artist with "spoken voclas" and in the box next to it "credited as" you cna put the name of that character

antlarr, Freso: do we know if this is like Spotify playlists (where new stuff will be added if the artist gets a new album or whatever)? I wouldn't add those at all, but if it is something else then maybe

Rotab: I dislike those bundles for promoting proprietary software where FLOSS alternatives are not only available but also close to being industry standard (e.g., OBS is probably the most common software for used for Twitch, incl. for the big names). :/

Each one of those MBIDs shouldn't exist and these "recordings" are not equivalent to the combined one
      • 2019-06-05 15600, 2019

      • Freso
But they’re all representative of a part of the combined one.

Sure I guess. Eh, I don't care that much either way
      • 2019-06-05 15635, 2019

      • Freso
So whomever out there tries to look up information about one of these it makes more sense to say "hey, this MBID is no more, you want to look at this MBID instead now" rather than just say "nope, doesn’t exist, did it ever exist? - you may never know."
      • 2019-06-05 15652, 2019

Sure, as long as they don't assume that it means it's 100% the same recording
      • 2019-06-05 15650, 2019

      • antlarr
that's why I thought it would be better to keep them without any release associated, as parts of the suite (https://musicbrainz.org/recording/99039da5-ac7f-4…)
