hi. what is one supposed to do with artists that have used various different names on different albums?
specifically, musicbrainz lists the artist for this release https://musicbrainz.org/release/e891e804-91fb-4... as "Notorious", but the actual box cover clearly credits it to "Eden MacAdam-Somer & Larry Unger" (i.e. the two members of Notorious)
should the album artist be the most commonly used name for the group, or the name that the group used on the album?
(i don't want to just go and edit the information somebody else has entered without properly understanding the relevant policy)
Hi! Is the server OK right now? I'm trying to make an edit to a release, and it doesn't get acknowledged at all, not even as pending.
Oh! Nevermind, I was clicking on this newfangled "<< Previous" button. Force of habit with the positioning, I think. Everything's fine! Sorry about that.

no, it does not appear to be there based on an indexed search of release groups: artist:"various artists" AND "This Land Is Your Land"
Some Discogs entries break when importing them (mostly classical with movements) but normally it works great

not that this is a big deal, but there's a track that has the wrong time listed... at least according to the copy I have. It appears that I can't update the time?
your tracks are only about 3s off.. that's more than the 2s that's typical for a pregap, but it's possible that this release just has long pregaps and the silence was trimmed from your files

i have no idea how they were made so i wasn't going to change anything. (the CD trumps a torrent)
it was more a question of "CAN track lengths be changed" and I guess if I have a CD that has a different time on it, I could submit it...

if there's no cd toc attached, track times can be freely edited
obviously, the listing above is for digital media.

in that case, a new release should be added. when you add the release, you'll be given the opportunity to copy the tracks from the existing release to save time.

ok, so after ripping, picard linked it with the existing digital record when I scanned the files.
