cool. I think I will release another beta in a couple of days (since I made lots of internal changes, which might generate problems) and then release the final soon.

Took long enugh to use WS/2, but I did have to fix some things in python-musicbrainz-ngs and start a new libdiscid binding (and fix things in libdiscid)
2013-04-30 12051, 2013
Jozo
Hjum, it's uses cdrdao by default.. I should check libdiscid
2013-04-30 12012, 2013

JonnyJD_: start another libdiscid binding?
2013-04-30 12043, 2013
JonnyJD_
Jozo: well, if the default works, that should be fine. cdrdao might also take ISRCs from CD-TEXT
2013-04-30 12008, 2013
JonnyJD_
outsidecontext: not a third one. python-discid was the first real binding ;-)
2013-04-30 12019, 2013
JonnyJD_
Technically I could have kept using python-musicbrainz2 just for the libdiscid stuff though. I just didn't like that.
JonnyJD_: ok, you confused me :) you just meant to add libdiscid support to your isrc submission tool?
2013-04-30 12023, 2013
xsteadfastx
im a bit confused if the "intrumental" part needs to be there
2013-04-30 12006, 2013
Jozo
JonnyJD_: I should read python-discid code... (If have used ctypes in past... I like ctypes, but it has some not so lovely things when you want integrate data from ctypes to real python objects)

xsteadfastx: is it saying it's an instrumental track? or an instrumental version of a track with vocals?

Jozo

reosarevok: reosarevok wait...i listen through it ;-)
2013-04-30 12003, 2013
xsteadfastx
reosarevok: i have no idea...because there is not the same song on the record with vocals
2013-04-30 12011, 2013
xsteadfastx
its just an instrumental track
2013-04-30 12031, 2013
reosarevok
Do you have the record? is "(instrumental)" actually printed
2013-04-30 12033, 2013
reosarevok
?
2013-04-30 12038, 2013
reosarevok
I'd probably say remove it, but

reosarevok shrugs

xsteadfastx
i dont have the record
2013-04-30 12008, 2013
xsteadfastx
i just saw it while checking musicbrainz for the record

Jozo: yes, please tell me when you find conceptual problems in python-discid. I use ctypes because then no additional compilation just for the binding is necessary. Not relevant on Linux, bot on Windows and possibly Mac.
2013-04-30 12043, 2013
JonnyJD_
I use a handle in the object and only use the c functions when the data is actually requested. Requesting everything from C and filling a new object would be another possibility, but I saw no reason for that yet.
Jozo: thanks, I will have a look. Possibly sth. to do with the github.io move or my recent layout change
2013-04-30 12003, 2013
Jozo
JonnyJD_: python-discid code looks very good. :)
2013-04-30 12048, 2013
Jozo
(I've used ctypesgen autogenerated code much. Hand written code is much more clean.. )
2013-04-30 12000, 2013
JonnyJD_
Jozo: I tried ctypesgen and decided that wouldn't be maintainable or userfriendly
2013-04-30 12005, 2013
Jozo
JonnyJD_: (I ended using all C headers, not just public/visible ones. And I had to use ctypesgen (with some modifications) to generate all)
2013-04-30 12000, 2013
JonnyJD_
Jozo: I found out what the problem with the libdiscid API doc is. Github changed some forwarding rules at github.io. That breaks all links that don't use a trailing /
2013-04-30 12000, 2013
JonnyJD_
I send a mail to github support about that change in the forwarding rules. There are probably many other broken links out there. The exact link did work before.
