Thank you all, most of the artist merge edits have (at least) three votes now! Still needed: Someone who speaks (understands) Chinese, to verify https://musicbrainz.org/edit/19294400 (Crowd Lu) and https://musicbrainz.org/edit/19294798 (JJ Lin).

for JJ Lin, the one album on the one being merged in is mentioned on the zh.wikipedia page

haven't found similar proof for Crowd Lu

though the listing for JJ Lin does mention the Crowd Lu song (the being-merged artists each only have one release, and it's the same one) and they don't seem to make any attempt to disambiguate

which suggests to me they're the same

Speaking of pro-tips, don't try to upload cover art to several releases at the same time.

You will get them mixed up. Esp. if you're somewhat tired and/or stressed out too.

Not that I would ever do that, of course, but if I happened to do it anyway, I would gladly accept votes on https://musicbrainz.org/edit/19298614 to fix the release's cover image.

Assuming an "a capella" version is the same "recording" as the vocals+instrumentals version (ie., the a capella one being just the vocal track(s) of th recording), would the a capella one be a remix of the full version?

Freso: i'd say no

(really, the full version is a mix that includes the a cappella version...)

but i'd just do them as separate recordings on the same work :/

Some instrument instruction/teach-yourself books have "minus one" recordings, where one instrument/instrumental track is left out for the student to fill in.

those a cappella mixes are cool, because they're useful as samples for remixes and stuff
