I don't see any obvious way to correct it from the MB web interface
-
nikki
edit the releases which have the wrong recording and change the recording used for the track from the recordings tab
-
if the new recording doesn't already exist, add it beforehand (so that you can use the same recording for each of the releases)
-
dan__
ah, okay. thanks nikki.
-
nikki
oh, and if you do need to add a new recording, you'll need to switch to the direct search when looking up the recording
-
(the default is the indexed search which only updates every few hours)

is this a known bug?
-
nikki
nothing stands out as wrong, so I guess you'd need to explain what it should look like
-
but I'm off to bed, so hopefully someone else can help
-
jessew
sorry, should have been more clear.
-
it is not a multi-artist CD -- all the track artists should be the same as the CD artist.
-
but the tracklist editor won't let me do this.

jessew, click "credits" (to the right of each track artist) to edit (or delete) the artist credit.

hm, is it tracklist -> recording or recording -> tracklist that we set times automatically? (or is it neither)
-
ah, track -> recording looks like, on the recordings tab
-
neat
-
VxJasonxV
automatically?
-
surely never after on-create
-
ianmcorvidae
nah, I just meant where can I check a box to copy track times to the recordings
-
answer: recordings tab :)

CallerNo6 -- thanks for the "credits" suggestion, but I tried that -- it seems to automatically re-set back to the wrong way when I do

Quick question. If I'm executing psql queries from within a bash script, should I be escaping strings? i.e. sed -e "s/'/''/g"

when you have a work, is the remix a recording of that work or a new work
-
nikki
depends :P
-
Super_NES
wah wah waaaaah
-
hi nikki!
-
nikki
people have generally been entering them as recordings of the work
-
hey
-
but occasionally they have iswcs
-
reosarevok can probably give better explanations of when to create a new work for a remix...
-
Super_NES
(its sen)
-
nikki
yeah, I know
-
your name is back to front
-
nikki tuts
-
Super_NES
pfffffffft
-
nikki
:P
-
reosarevok
Super_NES: what nikki said, mostly
-
A few times they have new ISWCs and it might make sense to keep them separate
-
And in cases where it says "remix" but it has new composer credits, that needs a work too
-
Super_NES
how do you actually find an iswc if you cant insert the disc
-
kepstin
iswcs aren't on the disk, you have to look them up other places
-
reosarevok
Yeah
-
ISWCs are for works not recordings
-
