Reasonable. I thought maybe you just didn’t like the idea of searching since it can give less-than-useful results (basically the same reason you did a 'link to recording by MBID' script for the release editor)

yeah, I don't really find the current inline search useful in a lot of cases so that was part of it

It’s somewhat useless for recordings, but much better for works and artists.

There are a lot, but they should (heh) have a lot of disambiguation comments

I was working on that but it got kinda impossible to test because the search page HTML was different on the test server vs. live server

so I had to add a bunch of conditionals

I might add a work, relate it as a derivative of both originals and add no relationships to the actual mashup work

But as I said, I am avoiding them not to have to think too much about it :p

I kind of like the idea of separate, but I don’t see it working out very well in general just because it’s often hard to figure out which is which

I guess it’s close to same amount of hard than finding out different masters in general.

I'd say it's actually easier, since as long as you have access to the recording, you will be able to determine whether it's stereo or mono

you need access to at least two recordings to find out whether one is a remaster of the other
