I don't know of a way to exclude all release groups with secondary types set, so I think you'll need to exclude them all one by one in the query :/
2012-11-25 33038, 2012
warp
that sounds like something we should add support for.
2012-11-25 33051, 2012
nikki_
a secondary type for studio would probably make more sense for what people want to do that for
2012-11-25 33047, 2012
hakko
oh, nice! I haven't seen the secondarytype: in the online manual either, but maybe I've just overlooked it
2012-11-25 33047, 2012
LordSputnik
hakko: no you didn't overlook it, it isn't there :/

I was using http://musicbrainz.org/doc/Indexed_Search_Syntax since I normally do my searches on the website itself (the query parameter for the webservice is the same as the advanced indexed search on the website, so they have the same fields available)
2012-11-25 33023, 2012
hakko
I'll check that and see if I come up with something that fits my needs, thanks!
2012-11-25 33040, 2012

but it's no big deal, right now, I just exclude what I don't need locally.

i might - thats a schema proposal not a style proposal, right? :P

I was about to say I have 9259 unread e-mails, even with heaps of filters
2012-11-25 33010, 2012
kovacsur
he only pressed enter this time, but I'll tell him.
2012-11-25 33030, 2012

that needs a few "Mark all as read" clicks
2012-11-25 33025, 2012

kepstin
now, my mailing lists folder - that's another story ;)
2012-11-25 33011, 2012
kovacsur
I'll just need to add more filters, I'd estimate 80% of the mail in my inbox is from old mailing lists/bulk/etc I neglected to make a filter for
2012-11-25 33023, 2012
warp
kovacsur: I never managed to make that work.
2012-11-25 33034, 2012
warp
kovacsur: I always needed just a few more filters
2012-11-25 33049, 2012
warp
(regardless of how many I added)
2012-11-25 33010, 2012

so now I just whitelist real people, their mail can stay in the inbox. everything else which isn't otherwise sorted (mailing lists, etc..) goes into a machines folder, which is almost like a spam folder with only spam I've somehow subscribed to.
