parabola: if you want to do file moving while you have the correct tags, this may help: $if2(%albumartist%,%artist%) - %album%/$num(%tracknumber%,2) - %title%
2011-01-09 00950, 2011
VxJasonxV
Even if it organized your files wrong, all the tag information is there, you can change your rename settings and organize it better

syntax should be fairly obvious from that

and in the free category?
2011-01-09 00954, 2011

alternatively, if you do va comps, you might like "$num(%tracknumber%,2) - %artist% - %title%" on the end instead

Casper, can amarok do this kind of stuff nowadays?

VxJasonxV: dunnot, last time I used amarok I hated it too much, bulky and crashey... so I use the slightly better audacious (I miss xmms, before they dropped the project and started to freeze)
2011-01-09 00911, 2011
VxJasonxV
xmms is still around
2011-01-09 00919, 2011

and very bugged
2011-01-09 00939, 2011
VxJasonxV
unless there's some show stopping bug, there's no problem with abandonware
2011-01-09 00948, 2011
VxJasonxV
you could always check out mpd, beep, or one of the other based on xmms clones
2011-01-09 00900, 2011
VxJasonxV
mmmm, amarok is cross platform now.

it's like, $left(%date%,4) ?

yeah I use audacious right now, but it lack many features that make search difficult (specially since they stupidly removed the "search in filename" so no tag no find)
yeah, if you come here asking for every edit to be voted on for no good reason, people will just be annoyed, but every once in a while is fine, particularly if you need something to pass so you can do something else

for game soundtracks, shouldn't "original soundtrack" be omitted in most cases? since there's rarely an ost 1 and 2, and all arranged albums have a clearly different name
