Can genre be edited manually? Since Picard is doing such an awesome job of tagging/renaming/moving files I got to wondering if there is a possible heirachical genre possible (I sort albums by style mostly) i.e accoustic, classical etc... at any rate, cheers.
      • 2011-12-27 36134, 2011

      • kepstin
you can manually override tags on a file by right-clicking on it, going details, then editing them.
      • 2011-12-27 36150, 2011

      • kepstin
picard doesn't really have any sort of automatic genre system, since we don't store genres in the db
      • 2011-12-27 36139, 2011

      • kepstin
picard does have an optional mode where it can use tags from the musicbrainz site to set the genre field; if you tag things on the site, and tell picard to only use your own tags, you can get a system that might work for you.

The "Kepler Quartet" performed the tracks on this release. Should I add ARs indicating that the quartet performed on each track? ARs indicating that the members of the quartet performed their individual instruments on each track? Or perhaps both?
