I have a release that came with a bonus DVD. All instances of this release, however, are entered into MusicBrainz as though the bonus disc is a music CD. It even has a disc ID, so it's not like I can change the medium type. I've verified that the barcode matches, as does the tracklisting... Any ideas? I doubt the same album was released twice under the same barcode, one with a bonus CD and one with a bonus DVD.
but they're not going to be able to detect what disc you have and which title number corresponds to what episodes

I think it would be nice if Picard's "Clear existing tags" option could be configured so it would not touch the genre field. I'm very particular about how my music is classified...

Failing that, Genre should be a field that shows up on the bottom of the Picard interface. Underneath Track, Length, Date, Lookup, perhaps...?

I'm not able to load an album from MusicBrainz that I just added... not sure why.
I initially thought that it's because the add release and add medium edits are still pending, but I loaded a release that was still pending a couple hours ago.
I think I know why I'm not able to load the album in Picard... this is what I get in the log when I attempt to reload the album:

It's because the medium type is "CD-R".

What determines when a PUID can be submitted? I just scanned tracks for a whole new album and associated them with tracks for the album in Picard. I'm not given the option to submit the PUIDs.
2011-08-02 21442, 2011
cparker
Does scanning not generate a PUID?
2011-08-02 21450, 2011
hrglgrmpf
cparker: if the PUID is already in MB, then you of course can't submit it again
2011-08-02 21453, 2011
ianmcorvidae
picard has to a.) find PUIDs (it can't generate them, only find them if it's been generated before) and b.) they have to not be on MB
2011-08-02 21400, 2011
luks
if you scan the track, MusicDNS returns a PUID, the PUID is not found in MB, you match it to a release

I wouldn't bother
2011-08-02 21430, 2011

you can run genpuid on them
2011-08-02 21437, 2011

what luks said, PUIDs are going away pretty soon; if you really care get musicip mixer or genpuid
2011-08-02 21446, 2011
luks
but the it might be that the musicdns servers are just currently broken
2011-08-02 21448, 2011

2011-08-02 21405, 2011
