looks like the other release also has the non-remixed track as a first track.
ocharles: so it looks like a regular single to me, that some guy with purple pants slapped "The Remixes" on the cover doesn't really change that.
ocharles
fair enough
i've abstained
warp
(and it does seem useful to just lump all single releases in the same release group if they have the same first track, regardless of how much overlap there is in which remixes appear on each of the releasese)
warp messes with ruby in windows.

For those using the inline ISRC/PUID + duplicate finder, I fixed the bug (spotted by warp?) « Repeated recording in release mistakenly shows duplicate ISRCs/PUIDs » that affected releases with multiple occurences of same recordings like King of Limbs by Radiohead http://musicbrainz.org/release/0ec67913-5de5-4c...
sometimes i wonder.. if it could be possible to persuade things like amazon to give us such and such releaseds for free. i mean so that our data, and therefor their data was accurate.
i could merge bob the builder into that guy with "keep artist credits"
that would fix a lot
i don't mind if we use artist credits for this junk, it's what it's for !
but the artist.. shoudl be the composer for this stuff
i strongly belive that
nikki
even when the song is never credited to the composer?
CatCat
well i was also going to say that if it is more natural better the guy kor gal that performed it
something liek lazy town and that sportagus guy
idk
but for postman pat. what do you think?
this has been on my todo-list for so long, it's gotten out of controll. alright
i wil ahve to do this
nikki
like nobody would object to "bob the builder" as an artist if it weren't also a tv show
CatCat
thats why i asked drsaunde,. if it really is an artist that performs as such
this ngs thing with artist crdeits is scary, suddenly everyone thinks it's ok to have bogus artists in the db
nikki
really? sesame street has been in the db since 2001, long before either of us joined
CatCat
yea. sesame street ( i found a sesam stasjon i fixed now)
is so rooted, I remember arguing about it and gettign a resulting "NO"
becasue of such and such reasons i don't know
it's liek disney
nikki
heh, the simpsons since 2000...
CatCat
i hate that wih a passion
there is just no place wher there is an encompassing "eho wrote what" type database out there
tweenies
it's jsut so much work.. and i can't get it done
if i could jsut find a place where themes and compositions and performances were written i na simpel table.. could do with ranges and whatnot
why is ther no such thing?
it exsists for musicals and christmas msuic :(
nikki
I guess hardly anyone wants to credit them to composers :P
CatCat
but atleast a n ar to the composer
huh?
i mean im' not wrong o nthat am I?
on THAT
nikki
of course that's fine
CatCat in many ways does not se the difference on composer of series liek postamn pat and sesame street to things liek series liek inuyasha and sailor moon
CatCat
i don't understand why one is treated oen way and te other is treated the other way,, simply because informatino is presented slightly differnt and is harder to come by
inuyasha has "music from inuyasha!" o nit
i'm sure
on last.fm.. ther is stil a group of peopel who stubbornly tag "legend of zelda" music as beign by "legend of zelda" rather than koji kondo (or the kanji i can't type right now)
if music from bob the builder is credited as bob the builder.. thne shouldn't music fro mnaruto be credite as naruto and not masuada?
drsaunde
catcat: I think the case there is the TV was best to use without better knowledge on actual songwriters
CatCat
drsaunde: can't parse sentence..
drsaunde
i don't know if i can make any more sense in my current condition
CatCat
¬¬
thne wait until you can, k? :)
I gotta go do house work .. this palce is a mess and i want saturday to rest
What is the benefit/purpose of using the "My Collections" feature?
(other than simply just having a list of your collection on mb?)
lidel just noticed this reature too ;-)

can someone tell me why, when i drag a folder into picard, instead of going to the left pane, it goes to the right pane, under a single [no-album tracks] folder in the heirarchy (even if its multiple albums im trying to tag)?
Mineo
user`: did you already tag the files with picard once?
user`
long ago
Mineo
ah
well, picard picked up the musicbrainz ids from the tags
you can simply drag&drop them to the left and do another lookup
