(Then again, I guess the album title is a bit /absurdly/ long... :-P
Ah well. Looks like no-one's online and available right now... I'll wait and try again in the morning.

Can't remember where it's at, though.

Hello! An album title I am trying to add seems too long. I have abbreviated it, hoping to add an explanatory annotation, but I received an http 500 error. What should I do about this? Thanks!
herojoker
kyan: i would suggest to try it again
kyan
herojoker: Adding the album name, or the annotation?
herojoker
whatever gave you the error
kyan
Okay.
herojoker
if the error always comes up after entering this particular input stay here
kyan
Okay.
I will comment again if it has an error. Thanks.
Still getting http 500.
Leftmost
kyan, what's the source of this title? I looked at the site that seems to be in question and I can't find it.
kyan
The website hasn't been updated lately.
I have the title because I run the website.
Leftmost
Ahh.
kyan
Exactly.
warp
the database probably has a limit of 255 characters on release titles.
it may be that the front-end isn't checking that restriction properly, which would get you a 500.
kyan
Hmmm...
warp
I know we fixed it for tracknames, but for release titles it wasn't that easy.. so hasn't been fixed yet.
kyan
As I said, the front-end limits the title, but it was adding an explanatory annotation that generated the 500.
warp gets "Warning: Someone else is currently editing this annotation! Please try again later. " and doesn't try changing it.
Probably the 500 prevented the session being closed.
herojoker
lol, what a title
Leftmost
Looks like there are some compat. characters in there.:P
kyan
herojoker: Exactly. It's even more impressive when we see the whole thing. (It's a spoof of those other really long titles, like "marienbad my love" (the full title is 70pages long).) :-)
(I made the title by incorrectly parsing an html file as utf-16. :-)
Leftmost
That would explain the compat chars.
kyan
Yes. (No, the html file wasn't in utf-16. :-)
herojoker
so you intentionally parsed a non-utf-16 html file as utf-16 text and used the whole result as a title for a release?
weird, just weird
kyan
Exactly.
As I said, it is intended as a parody.
herojoker
i don't really get the intention of your page
everything seems so random
kyan
It is. It is spoofing things that seem like English but aren't.
Kind of weird, I know, but I am a /very/ weird person. :-P
herojoker
in "Assistance" you give the hint to make the window larger... but its size is fixed
kyan
Oops...
herojoker
furthermore some text seems to be cut off there
kyan
I use a mac, so I don't usually do much testing of my software...
herojoker
abbreviation for "not a n
kyan
:-P
...umber
BTW, if you don't find it useful, I recommend deleting the "Anoé-Tuizen" file from the character list (it's 511 MB, and will eat hard disc space ravenously)
herojoker
hehe
kyan
Just be glad I didn't list all the neoglyphic charaacters. If I had, the file would have been ~10 petabytes.
