could I get someone to proof a blog post before it goes live?
      • http://rafb.net/p/jBxxhA87.html sorry it's not line wrapped
      • nikki turns line wrapping on with opera :D
      • :}
      • ruaok returns from paying his evil minons
      • yay

aCiD2: Link to the bug tracker / source, and having a readme file stating that it's a PITA to get running? :)
      • Also, change "moons" to "moonies".
      • nikki
it wasn't a pita to get running when I tried it
      • aCiD2: I would bold the "this new codebase currently has no javascript support" bit when you post it :P
      • aCiD2
        i've <em>'ed the "no" bit
      • it's not a pita
      • lol
      • nikki
aCiD2: well, I just think some people will just sorta skim the post and go "ooh new stuff" and head over to test without noticing that bit
      • aCiD2
        right
      • needs moar bold
      • nikki
and also (change of topic) I was supposed to be reporting a couple of bugs for you about tags

aCiD2: how far away is js btw? I want to hack!
      • aCiD2
Wizzcat: as long as it takes to get all th ebugs fixed atm :)
      • luks
heh, the md5 checksum for picard 0.11 starts with "cddb"
      • Muzzz_
        Add some whitespace and recompile!
      • FauxFaux
If it doesn't start with b00b135 when you're done I'm not running it. ¬_¬
      • Wizzcat
aCiD2: cool beans, too bad I don't have time to help out atm

[Global Notice] Hi! One of our servers had a short-lived problem causing some users to be disconnected. It should be back online now, sorry for the downtime and thanks for using freenode!
      • RifRaf
yay i wake up to a new picard, thanks luks
      • luks
hopefully it's not completely broken :)

luks is there a way i can use wildcards in the ignore tags list for lastfm or folksonomy?
      • the list is over 500 entries now and trying to make it tidier
      • luks
RifRaf: nope, I wanted to add it, but never had time to do it
      • shouldn't be hard, though
      • RifRaf
ok, but using regexp and modifying the script is how you would do it?
      • luks
I'd probably use fnmatch, but yes
      • RifRaf
ok then i'll study the fnmatch way
      • for the plugins i use do i just have to change the picard PLUGIN_API_VERSIONS and add 0.1.1?
      • luks
you shouldn't have to do anything
      • RifRaf
ok, still downloading, by bandwidth is throttled for next few days :/
      • aCiD2

        so
      • nikki
        hmm...
      • VxJasonxV
        picard 0.11...
      • luks, ping?
      • luks
        pong
      • VxJasonxV
        ever used buildbot?
      • luks
        nope
      • VxJasonxV
I think it'd be useful in generating most of what you'd need for DMG packages.
      • nikki
I wonder if there's a way to only lookup puids for tracks with the tracknumber 1...
      • luks
if we can't get the packages done manually, how could we do it automatically?
      • VxJasonxV
why can't you get it done manually?
      • luks
        I don't know, I don't have a Mac so I've never tried
      • but they seem to be a problem
      • VxJasonxV
        mmm
      • nikki
last I heard it was a problem getting it to run on both 10.4 and 10.5
      • VxJasonxV
I have a PPC and Intel Mac, I just don't know anything about DMG creation.
      • (Both on Leopard, if you wanted to ask.)
      • nikki
I can't even run 0.9.0 from the icon, I have to open the terminal and run it from there
      • VxJasonxV
A lot of projects have just dropped support for Tiger with newer versions.
      • they keep a "last good version" that'll work on Tiger, and move on. New API and whatnot.
      • nikki
VxJasonxV: there's nothing about picard that relies on 10.5 though
      • VxJasonxV
true, but there's obviously something wrong if it's hard to do 10.4 and 10.5
      • luks, is there anyone around here that does know the details?
      • luks
        ruaok, but he is gone
      • nikki
isn't ruaok the only person who's even tried it?
      • VxJasonxV
        gone for that... thing... overseas?
      • Muzzz_
        Bumrape, with aCiD2
      • nikki
I know fuck all about compiling/building/whatever on macs so I just use the 0.9.0 dmg or on a different computer
      • VxJasonxV
I did have something weird happen when I installed picard form the portfile
      • the menubar said Python
      • instead of Picard
      • aCiD2
Muzzz_: i'm dragging you in too
      • and don't tell me you don't want that
      • Muzzz_

luks when loading some files am getting some red unmatched with error: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xd8 in position 36: ordinal not in range(128) . and if i try save them the tags get kinda messed up
      • alastairp
        LotR: nope
      • RifRaf
this is not new to the picard 0.1.1, was happening before too, just could not find much info online about it, can still tag the problem files in mp3tag etc
      • luks
RifRaf: see About -> View log...
      • RifRaf
        ok
      • luks
it should have more details about where it's happening
      • and then please file a bug report on http://bugs.musicbrainz.org with this info
      • RifRaf
UnicodeDecodeError: with same message, and one warning about release_type plugin

luks http://bugs.musicbrainz.org/ticket/4192 , hopefully enough info there, never filled out bug reports and don't wanna sound like i am complaining
      • luks
        RifRaf: hmm, interesting
      • RifRaf: it fails on loading the MBID from ID3 tags
      • RifRaf
the smallest problem file i have is 3.6mb if you want me to attach one
      • luks
can you mail it to lalinsky [at gmail.com] ?
      • probably not a good idea to attach it to the bug report
      • RifRaf
yep sure, will take a few minutes cause am on 64kb
      • luks
        ouch
      • wait then
      • RifRaf
is not an issue, time is on my side
      • luks
I'm only interested only the first few kB of the file
      • you are on windows, right?
      • RifRaf
        hrm, yep
      • luks
ok, let's see if I can find something to cut the file

      • RifRaf
don't stress, is sending already, found a 2.8mb file
      • at least they are ending up in one folder, [-==-] , and according to the naming script that means they have no name, as an artist with letter A would be in [-=A=-]
      • but yep, if i right click a file to see tags there is just a Title and nothing else
      • but same file in mp3tag shows all the MBz fields including PUID
