I don't know if I would say it's a *good* idea, but I would go for quality over quantity
if it really does exist, someone can always re-add it and give us more information
CatCat
i think it is time we start being a bit more harsh when it coems to artists wich are "popular" Ie: has most of their releases already in the database
with harsh i mean vote no where peopel provide no evidence and theri entries are crappy
nikki
plus it's impossible to prove non-existence, but possible to prove existence :)
CatCat
entry pages should say "please give us some info and/or links"
i know only one exeption
one balckfoot sue release is written on theri site as "never exsisting2
it has a tracklist on lots of sites, but it was never relkeased
as in it was never put on *tape*
nikki
but it can still exist as a bootleg, surely?
CatCat
nope
hang on, let me find the link
brianfreud
mo, that was kind of the logic I used when I was trying to hit all the add edits
"I'll give you plenty of time - 7 to 10 days - but if you don't provide some proof this exists, anything, even a scrap of proof, then before the edit expires, I'm voting no.
e escalating conflict between the band and their management meant that the album was never officially released, though white label test pressings do exist."
hmm
brianfreud
yeah, someone prob bootlegged a test pressing
nikki
the only problem I have with people voting no is when people vote no unless there's some proof only hours before the edit is due to close
oh sure, but I'm not talking "there's 2 hours til this expires, give me proof now"
Kerensky97
My problem is once I vote no I rarely remember to come back to check it before time runs out so I'm afraid of voting no then not fixing it when they put in links at the last minute.
brianfreud
I'm talking I was hitting them on day 1, so they had the full 2 weeks to provide *something*
nikki
I think zout did it once or something, and there was lots of dram
brianfreud: yeah, I've no problem with that, but I mean in general, if we blindly encourage being harsh, some people will probably assume that it's ok to vote no even if the editor doesn't have enough time to provide proof
CatCat
well since only voted "yes" becasue i thogh it "looked ok" and i never did actually chrck anything
yo ucan remove it for me
brianfreud
I'd leave a note, then each day check my abstains on add edits, for any that was 7 old, leave a followup, then at 10-12 days, if still nothing, I'd switch to no.... gets to be really too much work though if you only have 1 or 2 ppl doing it for all the add edits... too many of them
CatCat
nikki: then we need to be "harsh" on saying that that is unacceptible :)
nikki
as for that album, there are test pressings so imo it does exist in some form, even if it was never released properly :o
yep
CatCat
i thoguh that iread that it never exsisted, i think that new line was added recently :s
hey MClemo The source of the bootleg release is supposed to be from studio recordings made for the cast of the play, and was taken when Waits's car was broken into in late 1992 (as confirmed by Waits in interviews [1]). Several different versions of the bootleg album were in circulation before the release of the official version.
I loved the South Park episode where the guy played Guitar Hero "Acoustically" and everybody was clapping along with him.
CatCat
like WTF oocco?!
nikki
zeeeelda :(
I have the game, I have a memory card, I just need a gamecube and a tv >_<
CatCat

http://musicbrainz.org/release/15141446-ae63-40... that just looks like "Closing Time" with a couple of tracks from "Small Change" attached. I'll stop trying to make sense of these weird freedb imports, it's driving me nuts
40 seconds apart is a little far off for two discids, isn't it?
CatCat
no the one with the guy with "mother in a box" its fro mthat ff movie
.. ithink :/
nikki
oh right
the ghost one is from mario games, I assume
where the ghost won't follow people unless they turn away
CatCat
i figured it was somethign liek that
hangy has quit
MClemo
CatCat: comapared the track lengths of the two Alices, looks identical (only each 0-4 seconds apart). From the odd Alice only the last track is missing. And the PUIDs match for all tracks (that I checked).
