I'm building a small site for a local record shop, and using the musicbrainz api to help the owner catalogue his stock, and I'm wondering whether it would be allowed to use the images on the frontend of his site

I think that's one of the things amazon probably take a dim view of - using their site to help their competitors

it's a shame there isn't an online repository of release artwork, unlinked to any one commercial concern

presumably the record labels don't object to the use of their artwork

I have a database question, is there anyone in here who knows anything alot about it?

ok, well I will ask anyways, when I look up mellon collie and the infinite sadness on musicbrainz. I get a proper ASIN,

however I looked up this album in the database and there was no asin listed for either of the double discs

so I pulled up the asin listed on the musicbrainz page on the albummeta table in the database and linked that id back to the album table as is described in the wiki, and it comes back as Mellon Jolly and the infinite madness

which I looked over google and I couldn't find that album, I see mention of it, I see a story about the pumpkins named that and last.fm has a reference to it but with the proper album name, mellon collie and the infinite sadness

but I assume they musicbrainz technology

my question is how come when I look up the proper album name on musicbrainz I get the proper asin and when I look up the wrong album name I don't get an asin but looking at the database the asin is signed to the wrong album name and nothing to the right album name

I don't understand how the website knows where the asin is in fact

asins used to be detected by a bot

I don't think there is a bot that automatically detects the asin in the musicbrainz page, is there?

they still have the right asin on the right album on their page, and from what I have seen so far they get mostly everything from the database, this is the only album I have found so far with the wrong info in the database and the right info in the browser

actually cover art was detected by a bot

and linked to the releases

and it had nothing to do with asin

right, I knew the asin I had on the bootleg was for the official disc, but it just wasn't showing up in the official disc

I hate stupid windows

all the disc space disappeared on C, finally figured out dr watson had been writing a log file that had reached 3.5GB

had me worried, every time I deleted something to try to make space, it filled up again.

turning off restore points will help as well

it turned itself off, no space, so couldnt set a restore point

its just stupid windows behaviour, obviously there was a problem, but all it did was write a stupid long logfile.

now that a nice feature, I'd love to see more like those turning flawed features off by itself

be nice if they applied it to dr watson debugger :)

but what was watson constantly debugging?
