I know the feeling.. I leave it running overnight, and it only gets maybe 500, 600 done each time
plus then the wierd ones where it's a perfectly fine ogg, but it gives a cannot analyze message

Hello. I set up the musicbrainz server per instruction. Everything works *except* I don't seem to have release data. If I do a search for "The Beatles" I get their page with "This Artist Has No Releases" at the bottom. But if I search for "Revolver" as a release, I get a link to it but cannot see the release. I see: Release with MBID 5f3ba07b-4a24-4cd5-b8ad-95ba0fcebec1 not found in the database
ojnkpjg
are you sure all the data was imported?
check the album table in your db
i had something like that happen to me when one of the tar.bz2 dump files was corrupt

I'll give it a try. I'm a bit of a newbie with sql. Does this make sense:
but it'd explain why search works, but it says the album doesn't exist when you try to look at it
eckdoug
ah....
ojnkpjg
it sort of seems like the apache server user can't access the db
eckdoug
ok.
Oh! Right! I never created a www role!!!

Thus the penny drops
eckdoug
Indeed.
Ok. I'll report back. I have a direction to hack/break things in :-) Thks.
ojnkpjg

Hmmm... how does "similar artists" work? Wonder how the site thinks Nirvana and Sublime are 2 of the top 3 artists most similar to Bob Marley & the wailers... :P
