Well, I try to vote right - and I figure, at least if I vote and my vote is wrong, it's better that someone looked at something once, than all the releases I see slip in with no votes for their entire time in the queue

wienna: well, yes votes are less important,.. edits go through without them anyway
2007-05-03 12312, 2007
warp
wienna: but make sure you vote no and ask for details on those edits which seem dodgy :)
2007-05-03 12354, 2007
warp
wienna: you can always change your vote back to yes if the mod provides proof or convincing arguments for his/her mod.
2007-05-03 12316, 2007
BrianFreud
or vote abstain and ask for the same
2007-05-03 12337, 2007
warp
depends on how dodgy the edit is :)
2007-05-03 12353, 2007
wienna
yeah, well i try to do that :)
2007-05-03 12354, 2007
BrianFreud
exactly :)
2007-05-03 12303, 2007
wienna
but I like the edditing part better
2007-05-03 12304, 2007
wienna
:D
2007-05-03 12309, 2007
BrianFreud
lol, so do we all I think
2007-05-03 12345, 2007
BrianFreud
though it seems I tend to get into groups, where I'm normally voting on the edits by the same people who normally are voting on mine
2007-05-03 12358, 2007
BrianFreud
unless I purposefully go searching for edits that are "out of the box"
2007-05-03 12328, 2007
warp
BrianFreud: sounds pretty normal.
2007-05-03 12330, 2007
warp
BrianFreud: I expect they listen to music somewhat similar to your taste.
2007-05-03 12346, 2007
BrianFreud
yeah, though what I don't get is, ok, it seems the inline voting pulls votes from "similar artists" only. I can easily get that queue empty, and normally do. But when that queue runs dry, why does it just stop showing edits, instead of presenting me with some of the other 10k edits needing votes?
2007-05-03 12326, 2007
warp
BrianFreud: iirc it either picks up edits from your subscribed list, or the artist you're viewing.
2007-05-03 12339, 2007
luks
BrianFreud: only autoeditors have that option
2007-05-03 12347, 2007
warp
luks: hm?
2007-05-03 12348, 2007
BrianFreud
well, I'm not subscribed to say, Metallica, but I see those edits up there all the time
2007-05-03 12353, 2007
luks
mostly because new people were randomly voting no on edits
2007-05-03 12356, 2007
BrianFreud
that's why I figured it was "similar artists"
2007-05-03 12359, 2007
luks
so it was disabled
2007-05-03 12307, 2007
warp
luks: i'm not an autoeditor.
2007-05-03 12323, 2007
BrianFreud
I'd love to be able to add in seeing, say, the normal + freedb add edits
2007-05-03 12328, 2007
warp
or only autoeditors have the option to see _all_ open edits there?
2007-05-03 12329, 2007
luks
warp: and you have only edits for subscribed artists in the iframe, right?
2007-05-03 12342, 2007
BrianFreud
no
2007-05-03 12355, 2007
warp
luks: yes, sorry.. i thought you meant the whole inline voting thing in general.
2007-05-03 12308, 2007
luks
in preferences I have [ ] Show inline edits. [ ] Show random inline edits.
2007-05-03 12321, 2007
luks
I guess non-autoeditors have only the first one
2007-05-03 12328, 2007
warp nods.
2007-05-03 12331, 2007
BrianFreud
I only have the first - but I see more than subscribed. I see subscribed and similar.
2007-05-03 12338, 2007
luks
hmm
2007-05-03 12340, 2007
BrianFreud
oops, the 2nd, not the 1st
2007-05-03 12348, 2007
warp nominates BrianFreud for autoeditor.
2007-05-03 12355, 2007
BrianFreud doesn't want it yet
2007-05-03 12356, 2007
BrianFreud
lol
2007-05-03 12358, 2007

BrianFreud: this time it doesn't accept remote desktop connections after reboot (and i'm not physically near the machine, so it's annoying).
2007-05-03 12326, 2007
BrianFreud
oooh, fun
2007-05-03 12324, 2007

hm, it doesn't really do much else important :)
2007-05-03 12329, 2007
warp
well, DC and DNS, but ppl don't need that until they come into work tomorrow, and i'm usually the first anyway.
2007-05-03 12352, 2007
warp
next time i'll switch jobs i'll get something which doesn't involve windows :)
2007-05-03 12302, 2007
BrianFreud
man the style list is active today... 5 digests already. Normally see one every day or two...
2007-05-03 12321, 2007
warp
ah, i don't subscribe to the digests.
2007-05-03 12339, 2007
warp
just easier to get real mail and kill entire threads i'm not interested in with mutt
2007-05-03 12304, 2007
ojnkpjg
i read a lot of email with ^D
2007-05-03 12306, 2007
BrianFreud
ugh, too many emails in non-digest, to hard to get gmail to keep it clean
yllona: it's a "various artists" release according to the classical guidelines (not that i always agree with the classical guidelines) <---HaHa, that because the artist is "various artist" in japanese.
2007-05-03 12340, 2007

hmmm, you have a upc... let me try something
2007-05-03 12313, 2007
BrianFreud
ech, worthless upc database info
2007-05-03 12314, 2007
BrianFreud
lol
2007-05-03 12316, 2007
luks
I think I'll just go and guess it's 2006 :)

oh warp said the same thing
2007-05-03 12331, 2007
Kerensky97 finally catches up reading in irc
2007-05-03 12323, 2007
BrianFreud
luks: that one doesn't come up in the upc database, but the 2 others from that company that do show 2004

luks: how does Picard choose between release events? Does it just go with the earliest one listed?
2007-05-03 12328, 2007
luks
Dhraakellian: when loading album from the label page, it should choose the selected release event

Ok, may as well get some feedback before my first commit - how is http://86.128.149.163/ looking?
