Jugdish: Things only cancel once/hour, give it an hour or so.
2007-06-21 17232, 2007
Jugdish
it just went from "To be cancelled" to "Cancelled"
2007-06-21 17239, 2007
Jugdish
shouldn't "Cancelled" mean it's gone?
2007-06-21 17251, 2007
BrianFreud
ummm, yeah...
2007-06-21 17252, 2007
FauxFaux
Dunno, I've only heard people say that line above, no idea what it means.
2007-06-21 17257, 2007
BrianFreud
and it isn't...
2007-06-21 17206, 2007
drsaunde
no i've seen labels that have been cancelled and/or voted down that stayed in the system
2007-06-21 17215, 2007
drsaunde
i thought it was a known bug
2007-06-21 17218, 2007
Jugdish
usually it's when there's something listed under them though
2007-06-21 17228, 2007
Jugdish
labels are like a weed! once you make them you can't get rid of 'em!
2007-06-21 17231, 2007
drsaunde
nope....blank ones like that
2007-06-21 17251, 2007
drsaunde
best way to get rid of them is to merge it into another one :-)
2007-06-21 17257, 2007
Jugdish
k
2007-06-21 17200, 2007
cooperaa
modbot doesn't like removing labels?
2007-06-21 17213, 2007
BrianFreud
faux: any chance of a listing of empty labels needing merging?
2007-06-21 17231, 2007
FauxFaux
Empty labels, could be fun.
2007-06-21 17233, 2007
BrianFreud
If that's true, I know I've prob made a few
2007-06-21 17239, 2007

2007-06-21 17250, 2007
FauxFaux
I was going to go to sleep and be early for work, but nooo. :p
2007-06-21 17223, 2007
Jugdish smells a new report
2007-06-21 17229, 2007
BrianFreud
drsaunde: doesn't really matter what label we merge them to, does it?
2007-06-21 17236, 2007
BrianFreud
or do bad aliases get created?
2007-06-21 17211, 2007
cooperaa
Jugdish: approve vote option script? ;)
2007-06-21 17228, 2007
Jugdish
no i was referring to a new report for empty labels
2007-06-21 17233, 2007
cooperaa
I know
2007-06-21 17238, 2007
Jugdish

2007-06-21 17242, 2007
cooperaa
:)
2007-06-21 17210, 2007
FauxFaux
The way I was thinking of writing the report turns up an empty result set.
2007-06-21 17211, 2007
cooperaa
it's okay, I'm in no hurry to help reduce everyone else's workload by shortening the open edit queue
2007-06-21 17218, 2007
cooperaa
;)
2007-06-21 17228, 2007
FauxFaux
That's labels that don't have a release event against them, what definition would you use?
2007-06-21 17255, 2007
Jugdish
so what's the point of even voting on "Add Label" edits? they're going to stay around no matter what
2007-06-21 17219, 2007
BrianFreud
good question
2007-06-21 17226, 2007
FauxFaux
There are no labels that don't have release events, Jugdish.#
2007-06-21 17235, 2007
Jugdish
i don't believe it
2007-06-21 17237, 2007
BrianFreud
not true
2007-06-21 17251, 2007
BrianFreud

2007-06-21 17252, 2007
FauxFaux
Either that, or I fail at database.
2007-06-21 17206, 2007
BrianFreud checks the one he cancelled earlier today
2007-06-21 17213, 2007
Jugdish
heh
2007-06-21 17230, 2007
Jugdish
fauxfaux: can you do a search for release events with amazon ASINs as cat #'s?
2007-06-21 17243, 2007
Jugdish
i've been seeing an increasing amount of those
2007-06-21 17211, 2007
FauxFaux
Mm, yep. /me queues.
2007-06-21 17211, 2007
drsaunde
brian: The only reason I said merge into another is because the cancelled and voted down ones I found were done so because they were duplicates...so it was a simple solution to merge laker
2007-06-21 17228, 2007
drsaunde
*later
2007-06-21 17247, 2007
BrianFreud

2007-06-21 17249, 2007
cooperaa leaves to read and write an essay
2007-06-21 17209, 2007
BrianFreud
I cancelled the label add, as I screwed up the sortname (bad copy/paste).
BrianFreud wonders, with all the various easy things we see that are wrong, is the terminology just so confusing for newbies somehow?
2007-06-21 17201, 2007
Jugdish
i don't think the fault is with our terminology
2007-06-21 17207, 2007
FauxFaux
Better formatting, refresh.
2007-06-21 17230, 2007
Jugdish
i think it occurs from looking at album covers, not sure where the cat # is, seeing some number "LC0000" and assuming it must be it
2007-06-21 17234, 2007
drsaunde
it's called empty spot syndrome
2007-06-21 17240, 2007
Jugdish
or the ASINs reported as cat #'s on crappy websites
2007-06-21 17240, 2007
BrianFreud
I had a label owner who is entering his own stuff today ask me if he really had to go dredge up the date of the release parties just so he could add release events
2007-06-21 17251, 2007
drsaunde
people like to fill all fields whether or not they have info for them or not
