Heh, I just spent 20 minutes or so fighting to get mutagen installed, and, after all that, I can't remember what I was going to do with it. :(

luks: It's not worth a ticket, I think, but I found it's possible to accidentally have write Picard write to a stream other than the intended one
2007-06-03 15458, 2007
BrianFreud
If you $set the release title from the file naming string, and you have an incorrectly placed : , when Picard writes the file, it writes to stream 1, instead of 0
2007-06-03 15421, 2007
luks
"stream"?
2007-06-03 15456, 2007
BrianFreud
maybe mis-remembering the word... You know how the NT codebase supports multiples of data, attached to a single filename?
If done "right", like I accidentally did, you end up with a apparently 0 byte mp3, with all the data stored in a different stream (where it's unaccessible)
2007-06-03 15418, 2007
BrianFreud
I was able to pull it back out by fixing the file naming string and re-saving
2007-06-03 15413, 2007
luks
I've never heard of this kind of data streams
2007-06-03 15436, 2007

afaik, it's unique to NT systems

some viruses use it for hiding their code

Basically, ban colons from filenames and it'll go away.

is the latest picardqt revisions not loading track length under "New Metadata" for anyone else?

the latest picardqt is most likely completely broken
2007-06-03 15431, 2007

I think it's the best to use alpha11
2007-06-03 15446, 2007

it says it is alpha 11

Hmmm, if I want to match for (empty), would it be ($eq(%tag%,) or ($eq(%tag%,"") ?
luks: cool. but should i not use dev12? how can i roll back to alpha 11?

when a cd case says "Made in Canada" amongst all the copyright info, would that imply that it is a Canadian release?

Jugdish i doubt that... sometimes CDs are manufactured in a different country than the relase country... i have some german CDs made in the netherlands or austria
2007-06-03 15407, 2007

just indicates place of manufacure, not country of releae
