      • 2008-02-19 05031, 2008

      • brianfreud
true enough - I'm honestly not even sure if we're supposed to... (the CD Baby script could just as easily add the "can be bought for mail order" AR too, but I wasn't sure if we were supposed to have those redundant ARs for the coverart sites)
      • 2008-02-19 05058, 2008

      • nikki_
plus we've already got the amazon link - I don't wanna know how many relationships would have to be duplicated if we decided that we should use mail order *and* cover art links

and the website already assumes a cdbaby link implies cover art, when I add one as mail order it goes and finds the cover art without me adding a cover art link
      • 2008-02-19 05056, 2008

      • brianfreud
Well, I think, where we have redundant ARs, a bot could easily add the missing ones. But I'd much rather a bot add missing redundant ARs than continually be adding new ARs for each new site that we can link to for coverart - each new commingled AR like that then needs all the developers of software/users of the data feed to then update their software.
      • 2008-02-19 05012, 2008

      • brianfreud
Separate ARs, even if redundant, don't have that same negative.

ring in an <img/> tag. Tomorrow the address changes to "http://c.amazon.com/0123-low.jpg". All you have to do is change a line in the server. If you decoupled a release ASIN from its cover art's URL, you had to go through all the stored HasCoverArt ARs and change them manually. Writing a bot to do this will take 10x the effort needed to create a new case in the code that processes ARs
