yup - plus, just years of accumulated code, it's becoming more and more difficult, I think, for any new features to be done, just because of the implimentation issues.

Well, I thought it could be because I had GRIP open. But it turns out that even after quitting GRIP and restarting Picard, it doesn't handle it.

Hmm, I have another theory.

Got it. The problem was a lack of quotes in my BROWSER setting, so the first & acted as a kind of escape character.
