hm, finding whether the old label was changed by a merge or a release event edit won't be that easy
2008-01-02 00207, 2008
brianfreud
well, I noticed the reverse today too - a release that was changing from album to live didn't have the type edit fail 4 days after the add edit for the release failed (dupe)
2008-01-02 00202, 2008
brianfreud
would pointing lables in event edits to mbids, instead of label rowids, avoid the problem?
anybody (in particular Kerensky97_work) know if http://musicbrainz.org/release/d3d252dd-f868-4f68… is correct? In particular, should it really be Japanese/Latin, and is it really single/official or should it be a pseudo-release?

Kerensky97_work: Also, it looks like your album annotations on that artist should be moved into release events.

I've been in the process of moving alot of those annotations into the release events. The label system wasn't in place when I did it.

Kerensky97_work: I kind of figured that was the case, about the annotations.

The association between the specific releases and the specific ASIN is useful too though
2008-01-02 00225, 2008
Kerensky97_work
True, but it brings up the question about adding multiple ASINS to one release. It's not very often a profile has more than one ASIN linked to it. I notice it happens more often now but I don't know what everybodies opinion is about that.
2008-01-02 00227, 2008
hawke
I don't see a problem with adding multiple ASINs to one release
2008-01-02 00242, 2008

So -- japanese/latin or English/latin on that release?
2008-01-02 00256, 2008
hawke
"Chance of love" is english and on there twice
2008-01-02 00206, 2008
hawke
but "Natsu" is Japanese and on there once.
2008-01-02 00216, 2008
Kerensky97_work
japanese/latin , "natsu" is summer in japanese (I think)
2008-01-02 00245, 2008
hawke
2/3 of the track names are in English though
2008-01-02 00258, 2008
Kerensky97_work
If it's a Japanese artist I leave it as Japanese even if only one of the tracks is in Japanese. It makes more of a difference if it's involving Kanji though; otherwise people are a little confused when they end up with songs in an encoding their player doesn't accept.
