hrm, "made twelve recordings (ten of which were issued) for Bluebird as the Chatman [sic] Brothers"
At that point I'm pretty stuck though. Can't find anything for what those recordings might be.
Wizzcat
apparantly it was recorded by tommy mclennan in 1940 on bluebird, so presumably it must've been before that
drsaunde
The Mclennan recording is 1941 (found that)..still looking for the other one
Cord
. o O ( an AR stating a relationship between bands would also be nice, Band A is the successor of Band B or something. )
drsaunde
i couldn't find any evidence of a 1940 Chatmon recording anywhere (by him or his various bands with his brothers)... other sources list the Mclennan version as the original.. maybe we should go with that
Kerensky97
cord: ALOT of people want that.
hawke_
drsaunde: sounds good to me.
Wizzcat
Kerensky97: btw, what happened to your RFC
Kerensky97
I don't know, I mostly just suggested it because ruaok said to mention it in mbstyle. But apparently it doesn't let me post there any more.
ruaok shrugs
I think it's because I dropped my subscription to the list.
ruaok
hmmm. its fall in california. 28C at noon.
Wizzcat
it seemed rather similar to EarlierReleaseOf to me though
Kerensky97
But we can't use existing ARs.
That's the point.
Wizzcat
won't ERO be redundant if/when we get release clustering though?
or wait, remasters.. hmm
oh well, I'll leave it to smarter people :>
Kerensky97
I think alot of those ARs kind of overlap now as it is.
Sargun joined the channel

drsaunde: do you want to point me at the Mclennan release so I can add it, or do you want to add it yourself and point me to it so I can add the AR?
drsaunde
ok one sec
ruaok ponders the name "data porn" for the upcoming releases/recently deceseased page
[13:00] warpsrotta: knowing two languages, if one of them is more fit to express a concept, why should I limit myself to the other language when I know the listener understands both? <-- I agrees
i have that going all the time
both ways

Zeitgeist
n : the spirit of the time; the spirit characteristic of an age or generation [syn: Zeitgeist]
CatCat
i talk norwegian and suddenly i dunno a word so i use an english.
as you can see here in irc, i do the opposite quite a much as well
uh, zeitgeist doesnt fit at all then
what's wrong with "trivia"?
juhae
just before you asked, i was about to say how zeitgeist is prolly another bad name for the page
CatCat
seriousyl. it's trivia, whats wrong with trivia?
ruaok
I don't like it. that's one reason. :)
CatCat
if that's the only reason, no offence, but it's a bad one
the only other i can think of is "stats"
ruaok
trivia: matters or things that are very unimportant, inconsequential, or nonessential; trifles; trivialities.
upcoming releases are not meaningless.
CatCat
to me trivia means "interesting to know, but not vital to your exsistance"
trivia originates fro mthe word trivial, but its colloquious name has evolved from that to mean point of interest
in a way doing a 180
in meaning
fux0r about with pretend latin and call it "intrivida"
"not trivial"
hawke_
I don't think that's true. Trivia still means unimportant.
CatCat
yes. and no
hawke_
"interesting stuff that doesn't matter"
CatCat
like a brand name it has a secondary meaning
hawke_
example?
CatCat
almost all sites that has such a page use it as a name for it
