any ideas why getting this replicating?

replications works fine for me.

27918 appears to be rather olde.

I'm up to 28735 without errors.

I'd suggest downloading up to date dumps from the FTP, importing those first and then setting up replication.

That said, I've had the same DB installed and left to replicate for months now without a hitch.

I mean, drop your current DBs, go to http://musicbrainz.org/doc/DatabaseDownload, download the current or most up to date dumps, and re run InitDB.pl with those new dumps

you could try downloading that file and passing it to ImportReplicationChanges (in the same directory as LoadReplicationChanges

Then enable replication.

so run mbdump.tar.bz2 through InitDB.pl

or through importreplicationchanges?

You can try it my way which'll take longer, or nikki's which may or may not be quicker.

possibly silly question: you do have enough disc space left, right?

And the correct permissions from that user to write to /tmp

I would try that replication file thing first though, it might work and then the rest of the packets can be applied automatically

it should just be /path/to/mb_server/admin/replication/ImportReplicationChanges replication-27918.tar.bz2

quick question guys about search indexes

are those to speed up track or artist search?

Both.

hmm how are those accessed?

They're used for the direct search.

are they loaded with full db or they need to be loaded seperated?

ya - id like to use - it seems like my search could quicken quite a bit - dont think im using right search indexes

right now real slow on a track search for example

there's a sql file to create the indexes somewhere

BY default it hits up a search webservice on the main site and processes that.

You have to manually use the direct search on your local mirror.

Ah no, there's a seperate table that the DB uses fr direct searches, albumwords, trackwords, artistwords etc.
