The effect of doing that will be to reduce the volume of the rock/pop tracks down to the level of the classical stuff so everything ends up nice and equal. Mostly.

You just have to scan your library, you can do it album by album as you listen to them, or all in one shot. It doesn't matter how many files you have.

And the great thing is if it messes up a scan and asigns a value taht's too high/low, you can just manually edit it since it's just another tag in the file. No fuss.
