I'll make it work for IE at the end. Right now, firefox or die ;)

hee hee it doesnt know how to calculate 1999-1-11 .. it doesnt know what day that is :P
2006-06-08 15937, 2006
dmp_panda
yes :D lol - a few strange things yet
2006-06-08 15911, 2006
dmp_panda
updating again - anyhow, that's way too soon to have anything tested seriously
2006-06-08 15931, 2006
dmp_panda
about that list: going top twenty + button show all / collapse ?
2006-06-08 15900, 2006
teleGUISE
ok still not getting to ever warn you.. it just says the day.. nothing else
2006-06-08 15905, 2006
dmp_panda
ok, let make it stable so :p I'll ping in an hour or two for some real tests ;)
2006-06-08 15917, 2006
teleGUISE
ill be passed out by then I think :)
2006-06-08 15950, 2006

Shepard: we were trying to come up with a not-so-instrusive but notable way to prevent people from entering bogus release dates. Making it so people won't get pissy about it but warn people that the date they are entering is possibly wrong.
2006-06-08 15919, 2006
Shepard
how annoying :)
2006-06-08 15942, 2006

Shepard: So if someone enters a release date thats a Sunday for the US it was say Please Verify or Confirm or something of that sort
2006-06-08 15901, 2006
teleGUISE
:)
2006-06-08 15912, 2006
teleGUISE
I think you would agree that if checked the known common 3, UK Monday, US Tuesday, JP Wednesday that it save a lot of incorrect dates.. again a warning so people who enter bootlegs and indie label stuff won't get annoyed but just have a warning.
2006-06-08 15936, 2006
dmp_panda
tele: do we have known usual releases dates for the top twenty, or just for a few of them?
2006-06-08 15910, 2006
teleGUISE
actually really only the 3 I mentioned.. :( .. well canada falls in with US
2006-06-08 15940, 2006
teleGUISE
you could set DE for Monday Wednesday and Friday until it really annoys sheppy and he says theres many releases on other days :)
2006-06-08 15908, 2006
teleGUISE
anyway it could always be changed if something is real bad.. we will never know until we try
2006-06-08 15931, 2006
dmp_panda
USA / CA Tuesday ---- uk fr belgium -> Monday?
2006-06-08 15906, 2006
teleGUISE
your stretching my (guessing/knowledge) i can only give a good answer for what I consistently enter... and FR and Belgium aren't them
2006-06-08 15931, 2006
dmp_panda
neither do I... I'll make a quick check on AMZ fr
2006-06-08 15953, 2006
teleGUISE
I really think the most common days are Monday Wednesday and Friday except for the US
2006-06-08 15904, 2006
dmp_panda
and ho, while am at questions: for "confirmation" dialog, do MB prefer an alert box? or an inline checkbox with a fat red message?
2006-06-08 15906, 2006
teleGUISE
I cant recall many confirmed Thursday, Saturday or Sundays
2006-06-08 15948, 2006
teleGUISE
won't the inline checkbox confuse people into thinking they are removing something?
2006-06-08 15908, 2006
teleGUISE
hmmm unless i add them manually i guess we dont have a total # of releases with a release date... though it appears with the top 4 we cover 1/3 of all releases in the db
2006-06-08 15909, 2006
dmp_panda
dunno. But the checkbox is used on the confirmation when you try to add an artist with a name already in.
2006-06-08 15936, 2006
dmp_panda
(although it's done server side of course)
2006-06-08 15944, 2006
dmp_panda
I'll go with the dialog for now
2006-06-08 15945, 2006
teleGUISE
i guess do it that way... this is all prelim and will be bitched about for years anyway :)
2006-06-08 15955, 2006
dmp_panda
:p
2006-06-08 15951, 2006
dmp_panda
again question: where do I put that button "collapse/toggle" full list?
2006-06-08 15958, 2006
teleGUISE
even if it helps 25% of the new entries thats better than nothing... In the last week ive probably caught 5-10 manually that set the US to a UK date or vice-versa
2006-06-08 15937, 2006
teleGUISE
verified it was a true swap and all.. so that would be 5-10 i wouldnt have to find myself
2006-06-08 15907, 2006
teleGUISE
maybe use a + sign? next to the country box... no.. guess then people would think it was going to expand
2006-06-08 15910, 2006
teleGUISE
i dunno... anyone else lurking care to add any input on that?
2006-06-08 15943, 2006
teleGUISE
is Nyght still playing water games
2006-06-08 15943, 2006
dmp_panda
and we want just one "expand", whatever the number of releases line right?
2006-06-08 15901, 2006
Nyght
nope, sending my husband off to work
2006-06-08 15913, 2006
teleGUISE
well tell us where to stick it :)
2006-06-08 15917, 2006
teleGUISE
the button that is
2006-06-08 15931, 2006
Nyght
ah and I was gonna say if it was up... oh, yeah.
2006-06-08 15953, 2006
teleGUISE
dmp_panda: you mean once you expand they are all expanded
2006-06-08 15907, 2006
dmp_panda
that was my pick, but it's far from done ;)
2006-06-08 15903, 2006
Nyght
I think a plus is wrong if you aren't expanding, because the site uses pluses to expand albums.
2006-06-08 15909, 2006
teleGUISE
yeah the calendar would be a real pisser ;)
2006-06-08 15935, 2006
teleGUISE
ok nyght's back to her 3minute ago answers to my statements ;)
2006-06-08 15950, 2006
Nyght
I had to read over what you'd discussed
2006-06-08 15912, 2006
teleGUISE
nothing... you actually think we said something meaningful ;)... who you kiddin
2006-06-08 15929, 2006
Nyght
well you ask me for input, and I should have some information about it before trying to give input?

2006-06-08 15951, 2006
dmp_panda
tele, Nyght: what about an entry in the drop down list itself that says : "More..." ?
2006-06-08 15902, 2006
dmp_panda
or "Show all..."
2006-06-08 15906, 2006
Nyght
That's better
2006-06-08 15901, 2006
Nyght
Show, let's make it errrrr... fit with the others
2006-06-08 15953, 2006
dmp_panda
that is "Show all..." ? anyhow, such text correction may be easily done at the end
2006-06-08 15903, 2006
dmp_panda
going with the drop down entry idea
2006-06-08 15901, 2006
Nyght
That's a pretty good idea... and yeah, Show All.
2006-06-08 15903, 2006
teleGUISE
i think inhouse needs to create a page that shows all the reports he has :) so I dont have to bookmark them all
2006-06-08 15928, 2006
Nyght
That might be helpful. :) call it teleguise's quick pick.
2006-06-08 15942, 2006
teleGUISE
well being it doesn't display an editing suggestions list, i think a user settable page for all servers should have "Custom Report Options" list
2006-06-08 15923, 2006
teleGUISE
that way anyone logging into a test server can easily find neat little things the owner created and may be of use or unique
2006-06-08 15936, 2006
teleGUISE
or should say accessing not logging into

MartinRudat wonders... does http://www.melonpool.com/cd.html qualify as a soundtrack? =)
2006-06-08 15916, 2006
teleGUISE
i think ill suggest that to inhouse... if its not too much recoding to add such a thing
2006-06-08 15912, 2006
Nyght
It doesn't sound like it is... at least, the coding of the sheets done and such
2006-06-08 15918, 2006
Nyght
other than that... I don't know.
2006-06-08 15915, 2006

preview for the collapsed list + show all thingie
2006-06-08 15917, 2006

2006-06-08 15938, 2006

it changes the width of the drop down list. Looks bad. I'll fix the width.

I don't know Martin
2006-06-08 15947, 2006
MartinRudat only has one of the tracks, and only because it was available for download well before the album existed...
2006-06-08 15925, 2006
MartinRudat wants to get a copy of the album, but the 'buy' links don't do anything. (that I can see)
MartinRudat pours nikki into a jelly mould, and puts her into the fridge to set.
2006-06-08 15958, 2006
nikki_
you'll need more than a fridge to cool me down
2006-06-08 15918, 2006
MartinRudat ships nikki to the arctic, then. =)

i hope if and when we get label & catalog info, we don't have redundant crap like this - http://www.discogs.com/release/215228 .. 3 label names all the same with all the same catalog #
2006-06-08 15913, 2006
dmp_panda now thinks about... label annotations :p and immediately hides before somebody stones him
