And very detrimental to the chances of wooing cute girls ;)

Joan_W
generally I find I blush when someone says something nice to me - you are right, I am not prudish or anything like that - I don't blush at risque jokes or whatever - just compliments
2006-06-17 16825, 2006
Nyght
I disagree!
2006-06-17 16837, 2006
Nyght
exactly.
2006-06-17 16842, 2006
Joan_W
nice girls like blushes - it tells them that you are not too sure of yourself
2006-06-17 16801, 2006
slaad
Funny thing is, Joan_W, I'm terribly arrogant when it comes to personal ability.
2006-06-17 16808, 2006
slaad
Although, less so lately.
2006-06-17 16809, 2006
Nyght
You hold very good company. :) My grandma was the only other person that seemed to have that fine line of .. perfect lady.
2006-06-17 16833, 2006
Nyght
(and she was also the only other adult to drink a blowjob (it's a drink people) without her hand and in the glasses I had to serve them in! )
2006-06-17 16835, 2006
Joan_W
nothing wrong with that - my mother always used to tell me that if I did not have a good opinion of myself, how could I expect others to have a good opinion of me
2006-06-17 16845, 2006
slaad
I'm hoping you're talking about Joan_W and not me, Nyght ;)

slaad, yes most of that was to Joan, sorry. I should've directed it.
2006-06-17 16834, 2006
Nyght
slaad, I always appreciated a male that could blush without getting all befuddled about it.
2006-06-17 16837, 2006

2006-06-17 16841, 2006

I know, I was just being facetious.
2006-06-17 16805, 2006

I've read you can wash a keyboard, but you've got to be really sure that it's dry before you plug it back in...

Joan: did the magic smoke that makes it work leak out?
2006-06-17 16846, 2006

I don't think I would risk it

we had another keyboard in the office so I used that and let the other one dry out. When it was completely dry and you couldn't tell what had happened, I called the IT department and told them it wouldn't work and they never did find out it had an unexpected bath

That's true Martin. Let it dry out a day afterwards. (washing trhe keyboard)
2006-06-17 16844, 2006
Nyght
you can wash anything electronic, as long as there's no charge, and it's thoroughly dry before charge goes through... (also do it with purified water if you can.)

MartinRudat has been adding 'CandidateForDeletion' to lots of things.
2006-06-17 16845, 2006

If there are that many pages for possible deletion, there must be as many that are okay. Hardly user friendly

how in god's name do they expect a new user to read through that lot and, at the end of it all, to what purpose.
2006-06-17 16825, 2006
Joan_W
all a new user has to know are the basic of correct editing - maybe a bit over simplistic - but they are just not interested in reams and reams of instructions
2006-06-17 16828, 2006
MartinRudat
well, some of it is summaries of what's been discussed on the mailing lists, some of it is documentation linked/copied to by the server.
2006-06-17 16809, 2006
Joan_W
but - is there an index to guide you around or do you have to be intuitive and try to guess the name of a wiki page
2006-06-17 16813, 2006
MartinRudat
...there's quite a few pages of discussion about what needs to be done to the wiki, plans for the software, user pages, ...
2006-06-17 16837, 2006
MartinRudat
there are quite a few indexes, I'm not really sure how useful they all are, though.
