I don't like to bitch at people though. :( I know I did it.. and I had viable reasons. but, I'm still not "proud" about it.

i wonder if Disney should remain as an artist in MB so that it can be monitored for new additions
2006-05-18 13848, 2006
Nyght
That's what Nikki was saying, and I can see a way to do it, but it's with AR's though there is one album I don't think will ever be "out" of disney so, I'm seeing on that score.
2006-05-18 13818, 2006
Nyght
See, we could do it with AR's as such like Menken is/was a member of Disney (which is sorta true, because he is a member of their composing staff) but, it's misusing the AR's too.
2006-05-18 13818, 2006
Nyght
I think though that the single attraction medley will continue to be there.. I've found two references to it in googling, and no composers. Can't find it on ASCAP, or BMI, and while I may stumble on it with a different search engine. I'll be very surprised. It's another multiple composer piece I'm sure.

i can't get to run tagger.py properly. it claims the following:

andre__
OSError: libofa.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
2006-05-18 13825, 2006

this is not true, however, as i have libofa installed and this symlink exists in /usr/local/lib
2006-05-18 13845, 2006

hi andre__, I wish I could help you, but I don't know anything about the lib stuff.

2006-05-18 13832, 2006

Nyght
cool welcome to the craziness. ;)
2006-05-18 13819, 2006
Nyght
nechto.. um, yeah as I recall it was only two different composers. I'd have to dig it back up to find out. But, I think one was baker so, I can go to his page. (also starting to clean up the names and normalize them.. slowly!)
2006-05-18 13844, 2006
Nyght
a lot of the difficulties lifted once yllona suggested those two search engines! It was almost easy again
2006-05-18 13810, 2006
nechto13 wonders what happened with Disney's Cerentola album, italian version of Cinderella
took looking through about three to five multi discs, but I knew I'd find it.
2006-05-18 13809, 2006
nechto13
Nyght: i actually went to check my browser's history. i looked for composers for the album 5 days ago :)
2006-05-18 13836, 2006
Nyght
for me that takes longer then again.. I don't even like digging into my history at all
2006-05-18 13841, 2006
Nyght
it's too chaotic and scattered
2006-05-18 13834, 2006
Nyght
adn I know I lost an album in there somewhere with [unknown] that wasnt' meant to be lost into unknown.. but, I'll find it again or someone will eventually.
2006-05-18 13824, 2006
nechto13
this is so strange. i'm looking at a half screwed up compilation, because of how it's listed on a cd according to it's moderator. and in the process i found another compilation that has all the same performers, all the same tracks, and almost the same track times and differs only by the last track. they are released on different labels though
2006-05-18 13859, 2006
nechto13
Nyght: it's possible for different labels to release compilations that differ only by one track, right?
2006-05-18 13820, 2006
nechto13
i've seen it on number of russian releases, but i though there are copyright laws in europe and in us that prevent that kind of thing
2006-05-18 13830, 2006
Nyght
I would say it's hit or miss.. I've seen some pretty crazy things like that.. but, it's not an often times situation. What's the disc, I can try and find the different instances of it. (if it's not "too simple" or if the song's aren't too named easy".)
2006-05-18 13803, 2006
Nyght
I've seen it with comp's being included within "boxed" sets, that are from the same label.
2006-05-18 13825, 2006
Nyght
but, from what I heard from bands.. they don't have as much control over what singles go out on comp discs as I had thought.. (I hate labels. :D )
Nyght: even if that's the case the last track times differ by too much on for the release to be Beethoven In The Evening album, which is the last link i posted
2006-05-18 13826, 2006
Nyght
for that link I just put up?
2006-05-18 13837, 2006

2006-05-18 13832, 2006
Nyght
"Sydney Symphony Orchestra" "Symphony No. 8 in F major Op.93"
2006-05-18 13840, 2006
Nyght
That's the search criteria I used
2006-05-18 13818, 2006
Nyght
but, you had it narrowed down a lot, with your comment about the last track being different.
2006-05-18 13824, 2006
nechto13
i searched for the album based on label the moderator gave me and the title they provided
2006-05-18 13839, 2006
Nyght
greatest hits is a very hard search
2006-05-18 13800, 2006
Nyght
there's too many greatest hits.. and believe me, I groaned when I saw the title. But, then it's just a matter of looking for something obscure
2006-05-18 13840, 2006
Nyght
and as I said, there's one record of that (by that title of course) in the symphony's history, and then on one disc. That's the same disc that UNLV has.
I think nechto13 that the names should be changed to reflect the names we've found. (mainly because greatest is once more so difficult to find.) and name searches are almost always the "norm" for trying to find cds
