I don't like to bitch at people though. :( I know I did it.. and I had viable reasons. but, I'm still not "proud" about it.
nechto13
Nyght: that's ok. you were young and didn't know any better; now you've grown and matured :D
i wonder if Disney should remain as an artist in MB so that it can be monitored for new additions
Nyght
That's what Nikki was saying, and I can see a way to do it, but it's with AR's though there is one album I don't think will ever be "out" of disney so, I'm seeing on that score.
See, we could do it with AR's as such like Menken is/was a member of Disney (which is sorta true, because he is a member of their composing staff) but, it's misusing the AR's too.
I think though that the single attraction medley will continue to be there.. I've found two references to it in googling, and no composers. Can't find it on ASCAP, or BMI, and while I may stumble on it with a different search engine. I'll be very surprised. It's another multiple composer piece I'm sure.

hi.
i can't get to run tagger.py properly. it claims the following:
OSError: libofa.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
this is not true, however, as i have libofa installed and this symlink exists in /usr/local/lib
Nyght
hi andre__, I wish I could help you, but I don't know anything about the lib stuff.
andre__
hey, I saw in the logs that nikki (or nikki_) had the same problem I did!
Nyght
if luks is around, or if Martin shows up, maybe they could..
ah, nikki's actually around a lot more. Perhaps she'll show in a not too long of a time.
andre__
all right... i'll just hang around then
nechto13
Nyght: you found performer's for disney's music sampler? wow you got skills
nechto13 is amazed
Nyght
cool welcome to the craziness. ;)
nechto.. um, yeah as I recall it was only two different composers. I'd have to dig it back up to find out. But, I think one was baker so, I can go to his page. (also starting to clean up the names and normalize them.. slowly!)
a lot of the difficulties lifted once yllona suggested those two search engines! It was almost easy again
nechto13 wonders what happened with Disney's Cerentola album, italian version of Cinderella
took looking through about three to five multi discs, but I knew I'd find it.
nechto13
Nyght: i actually went to check my browser's history. i looked for composers for the album 5 days ago :)
Nyght
for me that takes longer then again.. I don't even like digging into my history at all
it's too chaotic and scattered
adn I know I lost an album in there somewhere with [unknown] that wasnt' meant to be lost into unknown.. but, I'll find it again or someone will eventually.
nechto13
this is so strange. i'm looking at a half screwed up compilation, because of how it's listed on a cd according to it's moderator. and in the process i found another compilation that has all the same performers, all the same tracks, and almost the same track times and differs only by the last track. they are released on different labels though
Nyght: it's possible for different labels to release compilations that differ only by one track, right?
i've seen it on number of russian releases, but i though there are copyright laws in europe and in us that prevent that kind of thing
Nyght
I would say it's hit or miss.. I've seen some pretty crazy things like that.. but, it's not an often times situation. What's the disc, I can try and find the different instances of it. (if it's not "too simple" or if the song's aren't too named easy".)
I've seen it with comp's being included within "boxed" sets, that are from the same label.
but, from what I heard from bands.. they don't have as much control over what singles go out on comp discs as I had thought.. (I hate labels. :D )
Nyght: even if that's the case the last track times differ by too much on for the release to be Beethoven In The Evening album, which is the last link i posted
Nyght
for that link I just put up?
it's a five second difference
nechto13
Nyght: that's the album. thanks. you are my hero :P
Nyght
well that's why google sometimes is better than alltheweb. :)
nechto13
Nyght: i use google. but i probably used the wrong search criteria
Nyght
"Sydney Symphony Orchestra" "Symphony No. 8 in F major Op.93"
That's the search criteria I used
but, you had it narrowed down a lot, with your comment about the last track being different.
nechto13
i searched for the album based on label the moderator gave me and the title they provided
Nyght
greatest hits is a very hard search
there's too many greatest hits.. and believe me, I groaned when I saw the title. But, then it's just a matter of looking for something obscure
and as I said, there's one record of that (by that title of course) in the symphony's history, and then on one disc. That's the same disc that UNLV has.
I think nechto13 that the names should be changed to reflect the names we've found. (mainly because greatest is once more so difficult to find.) and name searches are almost always the "norm" for trying to find cds
MartinRudat
G'day nechto13, my day has been well, how about you?
G'day Beth.
Nyght
Martin, andre__ was asking about lib things.. do you know anything about that?
and how are you, as well. ;)
MartinRudat
Nyght: nope, sorry.

I've been pretty good... I wonder where the re-connect to irc button in gaim is, though...
nechto13
MartinRudat: my day turned out better than yesterday, i was exhausted by midnight yesterday and got 7 hours of sleep, but i didn't wake up rested :(. i think i overslept, i usually get only 4,5 hours tops
Nyght
dang. well, I had thought you were one of the more geeky of our number. ;) I guess I misthought!
there isn't. I close down the "account" and reopen it and it all comes up just fine. (disable, reenable) whatever you would use.
rpedro has quit
and glad you're pretty good! That's always uplifting for people. :D
nechto13
Nyght: Martin's geeky, but in a cooler way :)
MartinRudat
Nyght: well... I am, but I looked at the perl bindings for the library, and decided that to make something up myself that talks to the XMLWebService instead...
rpedro joined the channel
Nyght
Ah, most assuredly nechto13
okay, but you might be able to answer why it's not "finding the library" as I recall the comment was? (Of course, andre__ hasn't said anything, so maybe they've run off to other things now.)_
MartinRudat
If I felt really enthused, I might go to the extent of making a more perlish api for the library... but what I've got works well enough for me so far...
nechto13
Nyght: there are 11 great composers albums under beethoven alone. i shudder to think about bach
MartinRudat
not finding the library? on linux, I'd ask if they've run ldconfig yet...
Nyght
nechto13: that's why you're a classical moderator and I'm not ... at least currently.
hmm... I think that this has come up a few times earlier... and I still can't remember what the fix was...
Nyght
that's what they had eluded to as well with nikki having experienced it.. but, I'm not the best at searching chat logs either. :)
ah well.. again, they're not currently seeming active in this channel, so it doesn't seem to matter currently at the moment.

nechto13: weren't you looking for a specific cover a week ago or so?
MartinRudat
Nyght: at least one time, it was a need to run ldconfig... every packaging system runs it automatically after installing libraries... people forget to do it when installing from source...
Nyght brb, and will skim for answers to questions I've left
Nyght
ugh and ick!
juhae
You silly people in GMT
nikki_
it's still morning in finland
nechto13
Nyght: don't have to appologize. i searched for piano concerto, but got almost nothing using the search. certainly nothing close to correct. this is the link to the album http://bergen.bccls.org/MARION/AEG-8071 and i'm not sure what to search for using the cover search
nikki_
I didn't get much sleep though.
juhae
It's morning whenever I wake up, but since that was an hour and a half ago, it's almost midday. ;)
I have my own timezone
nikki_
juhae standard time?
MartinRudat
G'day nikki. ...was the doctor cute? =)
juhae
nikki_: also known as SST, Superior Standard Time
nikki_
she's pretty.

Nyght: that's right. on the mod the space is before the question mark. it's one of the rules for french punctuation
*punctuation in french
good morning nikki_
nikki_
Nyght: yes, the answer was to run ldconfig
nechto13
nikki_: how much chocolate would it take for you to run the russian subscription script for me?
nikki_
I would either have to find it or rewrite it
and right now I'm doing nothing because I'm really tired

ah, ick.. okay, I'll remember that
nechto13: ^^
thanks nikki, as I said I'll keep that in mind. :)

nikki_: it's not urgent. i can wait for about a month. after that i'm gonna be pretty busy installing linux and trying to port MB server once i feel comfortable enough using the new operating system. hopefully that will be sooner than later
Nyght
I remember now, I'll see what I might be able to find...
andre__
thanks Nyght
hi MartinRudat, Nyght said you could perhaps help me
Nyght
andre__: (1:35:06 AM) nikki_: Nyght: yes, the answer was to run ldconfig
andre__
yes I did run ldconfig, but when i run tagger.py it complains that libofa.so.0 does not exist
Nyght
And Martin said the same thing
andre__
:(
Nyght
(1:13:49 AM) MartinRudat: Nyght: at least one time, it was a need to run ldconfig... every packaging system runs it automatically after installing libraries... people forget to do it when installing from source...
Yeah, so.. I'm not positive what to say. Though nikki was here a moment ago, and Martin a few moments ago... you're welcome
