      • yalaforge thinks he could use last.fm more often since rhythmbox now has native audioscrobbler support
      • Muz
        I will be
      • orogor
yhea it has native <all player> support
      • orogor uses amarok
      • juhae
I'd really like to know what triggers the last.fm spam protection every once in a while
      • Muz
Some players lack support for it, and it's not all "native" as it isn't built in
      • yalaforge
well, rhythmbox has it built-in now. it came with my new ubuntu
      • Muz
      • orogor
        you are a dog ?
      • Muz
        Yeah
      • orogor
        Oo
      • kamelot .... you re french ?
      • Muz
        Nope, I live in England
      • And Kamelot is an American power metal band iirc
      • orogor
you know there s a french broadcast whichis named kamelot
      • it s very fun
      • Muz
        Ne'er heard of it
      • orogor
        ho noo
      • it s kaamelot
      • Muz
        Hmmmm
      • orogor
it s about the king arthure and everything
      • Muz
        Yeah, so's the band :P It's "lame"
      • yalaforge can't remember listening to more than 3 of muz' artists :-)
      • yalaforge
        looks like completely disjoint tastes
      • juhae has seen five of Muz's top ten live ;)
      • Muz
        :D
      • Well, you're Finnish, so it's no surprise :P
      • juhae
Muz: Consider yourself added, by the way.
      • Nyah.
      • Muz
        Oooh
      • Funny that yalaforge, I recognise a lot of your top artists :P
      • yalaforge
mhhh. then my taste is just a bit, err, limited!
      • Shepard
        <Muz> Yeah, so's the band :P It's "lame" <- uh?
      • LazySod has left the channel
      • Muz
        Shep, Kamelot
      • Shepard
        yeah?
      • Muz
The whole "King Arthur", Fantasy metal lyrical theme
      • The "cheesyness" of it all
      • Shepard looks confused
      • Muz slaps shep about with a tolkki
      • juhae
        Noooo
      • Keep him away!
      • Shepard slaps muz with a Kakko
      • Shepard
if we go on using finns for that, this wonderful land of true metal will be not so true soon :(
      • Shepard hopes his bathroom floor has dried yet and goes on cleaning the bathroom
      • Muz is still packing
      • nikki_ blinks
      • nikki_ prods g0llum
      • MartinRudat blahs and goes back to voting abstain.

I see someone has added ARs to some of the bands I split the other day. Seeing that makes me feel the time spent splitting the bands was well spent.
      • MartinRudat bites this katie melua cd... it won't even read the TOC!
      • MartinRudat peers at the cd... in glyspeck 1... 'IFPI LK46'... interesting.
      • MartinRudat
        s/gl/fl/;

      • dmppanda
        hello all
      • mudcrow
        hi
      • MartinRudat
        G'day dmppanda.
      • dmppanda
        lo MartinRudat
      • was wondering if I should strip all the "extra infos" of these tracks here - as it helps between track 1 & 2: http://musicbrainz.org/showalbum.html?albumid=1...
      • radio edit / LP version stuff
      • lo mudcrow ;)
      • mudcrow
I don't agree with removing version info
      • dmppanda
mmm... well... two opinions... I don't have mine yet :/
      • MartinRudat
        you'd be throwing away information.
      • dmppanda
I'll let them on this one
      • thanks
      • also - luks is the guy for debian picard builds right? was wondering why there are no AMD64 builds. If it's lack of hardware, well, maybe I can help?
      • mudcrow
yes luks is the man who works the wonders with picard
      • MartinRudat ponders tracking down the last source tarball to build for debian powerpc...
      • dmppanda
src packages are in luks repo. Possibly a simple apt-src would do the track (am not a build expert) ?
      • luks
dmppanda: those debian packages are only a side product and they are completely untested, as i don't have any real debian machine (only chroot in ubuntu)
      • dmppanda
        s/track/trick
      • MartinRudat
        no Source.gz last I looked...
      • dmppanda
luks: ok, well, as long as src packages are here, it's fine with me
      • luks
        yes, source packages are there
      • you can simply rebuild them
      • dmppanda
luks: if you ever really need someday a ssh access to amd64 hardware just ask...

[Insert rant on Portage vs Ports]
      • MartinRudat threatens intgr with X on a 386.
      • luks
intgr: `apt-get -b source picard` is not that hard to type :)
      • intgr
        Pwned. :(
      • MartinRudat ponders ... I've got this 2CD release... including the albums Land of lots of time and Song of Australia... should I go "Land of Lots of Time / Song Of Australia (disc 1: Land of Lots of Time)"?
      • mudcrow
whats the title on the cover?
      • MartinRudat
the spine 'Land of Lots of Time / Song of Australia'...
      • warp
MartinRudat: where they ever released seperately?
      • MartinRudat
The cover has 'Includes the albums' 'Land of lots of time' and 'song of australia'
      • warp: dunno yet, but one presumes so.
      • warp
MartinRudat: in that case, i would just add them seperately.

      • yalaforge
ooh, trac uses a sane date format now :-)
      • the time part of the timeline is finally usable ;-)
      • nikki_
        hehe
      • djce
yalaforge: I campaigned tirelessly for that ;-) - see yesterday's chat logs
      • yalaforge
        nice, thanks!
      • nikki_
and then either djce scared it into fixing itself, or the magical date fairies did it
      • yalaforge would guess luks did it
      • djce pats the fairies
      • didn't luks say he didn't?
      • djce
        He thought I fixed it.
      • yalaforge
        no idea
      • djce
I /tried/ to fix it a few days ago, and /thought/ I failed. So, I'm confused.
      • yalaforge doesn't care as long as it works. thanks to the person who did it!
      • nikki_
so, it was obviously the fairies.
      • lauri
question: i have never used picard without an account, is it able to do lookups only (no submitting of data) without a login name?
      • luks
        yes
      • lauri
        thanks
      • yalaforge
the WS only requires the user name and password for puid submissions
      • (and for checking if you're "naggable")
      • nikki_ grmls at wikis having loads of different syntaxes :/
      • djce thinks about getting some lunch
      • Shepard gets some lunch
      • lauri
thanks, then assuming i get 7.0 building without too much trouble, i will just need to nag the python gurus to help me make it actually work :)
      • and we are fixing the license issue in the packages too
      • yalaforge
shouldn't be too difficult, the dependencies are much easier to install these days
      • lauri
i am doing os packaging yalaforge (sorry, wasn't clear on that)
      • yalaforge
        ah, freebsd, IIRC?
      • lauri
        yes :)
      • it
      • djce
        A little trivia ... out of 299 musicbrainz-users members, 76 are @gmail.com
      • nikki_
        not me!
      • lauri
yalaforge: is finally compilable, all the deps are in the tree, so it builds and runs nicely now
      • yalaforge: reads tags, looks up releases too
      • yalaforge
        oh, cool
      • luks
lauri: packaging 0.7 is *much* easier than 0.6
      • python setup.py install
      • lauri
it just doesnt match tracks to the looked up releases, and it doesnt actually write out any id3 tags either heh
      • looks pretty though
      • for like, gtk values of pretty (so, not really)
      • yalaforge
with a proper theme it looks nice, IMHO
      • yalaforge remembers you're a kde person :-)
      • lauri
i was just gonna suggest you do a whois on me first :)
      • yalaforge
        nah, my memory works mostly
      • MartinRudat
o/` memory, all alone in the moonlight, all alone with my memories of my days in the sun o/`
      • yalaforge
you should be posting MB IDs for that :-)
      • MartinRudat
heh. my memory doesn't extend quite that far yet...
      • though I suppose I could go search...
      • lauri
yalaforge: i am likely the worst person to port this damn thing
      • i hate python, i do c++, not c, i dont know any wx, or gtk
      • yalaforge likes python but hates c++
      • so i can now ask a really stupid question: does python have a debugger?
