        hi
      • 2006-05-23 14343, 2006

      • MartinRudat blinks... "Number of Discs: 1.0" ... can there be "Number of Discs: 1.5"?
      • 2006-05-23 14358, 2006

      • Nyght
LOL sure, the credit card discs. :)
      • 2006-05-23 14338, 2006

      • MartinRudat
hmm... that's possible... though I don't think that cutting them out of a full cd with a pair of scissors would work very well... =)
      • 2006-05-23 14349, 2006

      • Nyght
Ya know, I have to agree with you there.. might end up splitting up some of the data. :( Well... we don't burn them. ;)
      • 2006-05-23 14324, 2006

      • MartinRudat
Nyght: it's more that the lacquer might separate from the back of the CD, taking the reflective layer, and the data layer (on recordables)with it, I think... if you limit youself to hmm... 50M, I think, you fit just fine inside a credit-card CD...
      • 2006-05-23 14355, 2006

      • MartinRudat could go check one of the credit-card CDs he's got to be sure, but isn't quite certain where they are...
      • 2006-05-23 14303, 2006

      • Nyght
LOL I don't even have any... but, if it was done the first burn, it would still be "half a cd" and it wouldn't get damaged. :D
      • 2006-05-23 14336, 2006

      • Nyght has to stop on that fan club.. cause is getting caustic
      • 2006-05-23 14358, 2006

      • MartinRudat
        hmm?

      • Nyght
      • 2006-05-23 14347, 2006

      • Nyght
I'm starting to cross the line of "delicate rebuke" to flaming...
      • 2006-05-23 14312, 2006

      • MartinRudat
Nyght: eh. oh well, I feel they deserve being flamed.
      • 2006-05-23 14350, 2006

      • Nyght
Well, it's partially their own abusiveness to others that's pulled my hackles up... and I have a hard time biting my tongue in that instance.
      • 2006-05-23 14306, 2006

      • Nyght
or fingers in this instance. :)
      • 2006-05-23 14309, 2006

      • MartinRudat wonders if he should go track down a copy of the internet flame form... then again, that wouldn't be a very friendly thing to (try to) jam into a mod-note...
      • 2006-05-23 14318, 2006

      • 2006-05-23 14325, 2006

      • HairMetalAddict
Rules of engagement: Don't get engaged. It only leads to marriage, which is the leading cause of divorce.
      • 2006-05-23 14323, 2006

      • Nyght
So very true HMA, but sometimes it's worth the risk

...but god is omniscient, he knows what you're up to all the time, everywhere (I think)
      • 2006-05-23 14353, 2006

      • slaad
What if I'm in the bathroom? Does he watch me then? Because that's kind of... odd.
      • 2006-05-23 14355, 2006

      • MartinRudat
so I'm given to believe, but I'm only nominally christian, so I really dunno. *shrugs*
      • 2006-05-23 14343, 2006

      • slaad
I don't think I want to worship anyone who watches me whilst I'm on the loo...
      • 2006-05-23 14347, 2006

      • MartinRudat ponders running away from one of those topics never to bring up unless you're prepared for an argument... =)
      • 2006-05-23 14325, 2006

      • Nyght
Gives a new twist to fetishism for sure slaad

        Heh, even.
      • 2006-05-23 14334, 2006

      • HairMetalAddict is glad he's a Pagan, and his Gods/Goddesses have no interest in watching him take a dump

      • MartinRudat ponders taking a more active interest in theology... but the christian god is as good as any other for using to blaspheme...
      • 2006-05-23 14346, 2006

      • MartinRudat ponders... one of the elder gods might be good for cursing with, but I don't think that you'd want to get their attention...

if a new user to MB creates an account, are they given a link to the CodeOfConduct at all?
      • 2006-05-23 14327, 2006

      • MartinRudat
        there's a CodeOfConduct page?
      • 2006-05-23 14356, 2006

      • MartinRudat can't remember, he signed up a while back...

Yes Martin, not very notable anywhere, but very good initial reading if we can get it out there.

      • 2006-05-23 14339, 2006

      • Nyght
It was new to me when nechto13 pointed it out to me... and I had read through the editing stuff like three times, and a bunch of other things. I was just looking at MB like a new user once more and trying to figure out the best place to put it so it's sure to catch the eye.
      • 2006-05-23 14349, 2006

      • BrianG
replace the user stats section of the side bar with a link to the CoC :)

      • MartinRudat
hmm... the first part, play nice, don't flame, and be nice to newbies, is pretty much Internet Ettiquette(sp!) 101, afaik. I should provide links with my edits more, though... then again, from what (little) I've seen, so should everyone...
      • 2006-05-23 14339, 2006

      • Nyght
Yes, so should everyone... and, it takes a lot less time if the editor supplies links so a voter can double check, or add more information or whatnot.
      • 2006-05-23 14315, 2006

      • nikki_
        aaaaaaaaaaah!

exams in an hour and a half and I still know nothing
      • 2006-05-23 14347, 2006

      • Nyght
to me it's a simple case of less time all around. The originator supplies the links, the voter then can choose to search elsewhere, or take the provided link. It certainly shows why you've gathered the thoughts you have and doesn't leave others to crawl around in your headspace. :)
      • 2006-05-23 14349, 2006

      • MartinRudat likes it to a certain extent when an editor doesn't... gives me a chance to prod amazon to find the album (if it exists), and get a virtually free mod. =)
      • 2006-05-23 14306, 2006

      • Nyght
we're not too careful when we do that, we might step on a memory or something and squash it out of existence. :D
