ruaok: Did I ever actually explain what I meant with the multiple track analyze and Picard?
2006-05-12 13201, 2006
ruaok
dont think so.
2006-05-12 13202, 2006
Nyght
ah, um, basically just being able to click on a cluster, and have it analyze all of the tracks instead of having to click each one and telling it to anazlyze.
2006-05-12 13208, 2006
Nyght
analyze too. ;)
2006-05-12 13259, 2006
ruaok
yes...
2006-05-12 13210, 2006
ruaok
I have many plans to make all that much smarter.
2006-05-12 13227, 2006
ruaok
something like this:
2006-05-12 13236, 2006
ruaok
0) user adds files
2006-05-12 13243, 2006
ruaok
1) read metadata from files
2006-05-12 13247, 2006
ruaok
2) cluster
2006-05-12 13206, 2006
ruaok
3) for each cluster, do an album lucene search, if found, match cluster to album, done.
2006-05-12 13252, 2006
ruaok
4. start randomly pweeding tracks from a cluster and look them up. If two or more tracks from one cluster match nicely to an album, download album, move things over.
2006-05-12 13204, 2006
ruaok
5) Any tracks leftover, pweed them.
2006-05-12 13209, 2006
ruaok
sound sane?
2006-05-12 13229, 2006
luks
Nyght: click on the first one, press shift and click on the last one, click "Analyze" from the toolbar
saxpoet: I've only had one instance of this, and it was Korn's version of the song attrib'd to Draiman.. I put it as a NAT... at the same time. I don't feel like I have a good enough grasp on NAT's to truly give much information or suggestions, and I wish I could.
2006-05-12 13247, 2006
wolfsong13
also I why bootleg?
2006-05-12 13201, 2006
saxpoet
I can see no other reason why it is not good enough as is, but a voter does not like it as is ... just looking for ideas

boot because this is ripped from VHS, not a commercial release
2006-05-12 13257, 2006
Nyght
well there's waiting the votes out and seeing if you get any yes. One no doesn't make a vote fail unless you don't get two yes votes...
2006-05-12 13201, 2006
wolfsong13
is the VHS a commercial release?
2006-05-12 13231, 2006
saxpoet
seems that this is an extension of the question about NATs ripped from TV, VH1 Award ceremonies and the like
2006-05-12 13258, 2006
wolfsong13
no i would say that's a bit different
2006-05-12 13211, 2006
saxpoet
yes, the VHS is commercial ... I entered amazon and IMDB links
2006-05-12 13225, 2006

bootleg should really apply to unofficial sources
2006-05-12 13202, 2006
saxpoet
ok ... so a change to 'official' could apply ... but the real trouble is overcoming the objection of the NO voter
2006-05-12 13212, 2006
Joan_W
anyone seen teleguise today
2006-05-12 13239, 2006
Nyght
Oh darn... I just realized there's somewhat of a problem with the inclusion of a "g" rated music merged with "nr" rated music... and it comes with puid attachment.
2006-05-12 13249, 2006
Nyght

2006-05-12 13254, 2006
saxpoet
and how many NATs from MTV awards etc. have made it into the dB with no problem?
2006-05-12 13207, 2006
Nyght
yes saxpoet, I'm trying to right now figure out something similar with a bunch of remix tracks.
2006-05-12 13221, 2006
Joan_W
40 or so remix tracks
2006-05-12 13228, 2006

2006-05-12 13231, 2006
Nyght
Yeah..
2006-05-12 13250, 2006
Nyght
You mentioned to do them in NATs, but it seems like a lot of NATs to me.
2006-05-12 13205, 2006
Nyght
and I would leave the sample tracks out all together.
2006-05-12 13226, 2006

saxpoet: I think part of getting things like that accepted is how large of a crowd knows about them, would utilize etc... and I'm not saying that's correct, I just think that's what says if they gain admission or not into the db
2006-05-12 13249, 2006
Joan_W
unfortunately beth, that is also true of some of the less well known single artists and groups
2006-05-12 13215, 2006
Nyght
The ten tracks all came from the mp3.com site.. the various others, were mainly from mp3.com, but from their remixers, or, from the message board. So, you're correct they were never on albums and I don't believe they will ever be on albums.
2006-05-12 13217, 2006
Joan_W
with albums
2006-05-12 13242, 2006
Nyght
Klayton's talking about doing another remix contest, and those tracks perhaps going out on an album.. but, he's pretty done with Symbiont to my understanding.
2006-05-12 13218, 2006
Nyght
Joan, yes, but the add artists are becoming more and more "auto accepted" because if they don't get populated they auto delete.
2006-05-12 13238, 2006
saxpoet
has there been talk of adding a "MusicSourceGuide" to accompany the Style and Editing Guides?
2006-05-12 13208, 2006
Nyght
but, as far as releases, yes.. that can be difficult. Though I think if there's not freedb import there, sometimes that with a disc id can help a lot.
2006-05-12 13203, 2006
saxpoet
ah, but there is a freedb import of this ... that is how I brought it in
2006-05-12 13211, 2006
Nyght
Of course, those disc id's can be a pain in the arse too, because we're still pruning out home burnt discs.
2006-05-12 13237, 2006
Nyght
Hmm... that might be part of the flack? I don't know honestly...
2006-05-12 13244, 2006
Nyght
saxpoet: do you have the track?
2006-05-12 13207, 2006
saxpoet
not the VHS, but some of the MP3s
2006-05-12 13216, 2006
Joan_W
I have got about 1,000 CD's here and I don't know how many have already been entered into the database. If they have, I don't know how many have disc ID's attached. To enter disc ID's, I would have to download Picard wouldn't I and I have tried to steer clear of it so far.
2006-05-12 13239, 2006
Nyght
mb tagger can also submit disc id's Joan
2006-05-12 13206, 2006
Joan_W
I did download Picard when I first started, but the damn thing kept crashing, so I uninstalled.
2006-05-12 13207, 2006
Nyght
saxpoet, have you attached puid, or trm to the track you're trying to add?
2006-05-12 13219, 2006
Nyght
Joan, it's much m ore stable now.
2006-05-12 13235, 2006
Nyght
I was impressed, actually it's being very stable for me... (on windowz) though
2006-05-12 13252, 2006

When I come back from Ireland at the beginning of next month, I will give it another try. I am also on Windows - XP
2006-05-12 13223, 2006
saxpoet
TRM should be there
2006-05-12 13220, 2006
Nyght
Yeah, the last build is really doing well.. I'm even starting to puid my collection.. geh, that's why I was complaining about the analyze bit.. 30,000 tracks being hand clicked for analysis stinks. ;)
2006-05-12 13248, 2006
