hello, two questions: 1) how can i change the default font? 2) how can i change the screen DPI so that fonts sizes correspond between Wine and X11?
      • 2006-02-02 03334, 2006

      • LjL
as for 1), i've tried using the MS "Display" control panel applet, but it only lets me change the font used for menus and messagebox, but not the one used by most dialogs and controls. and as for 2), there is a "LogPixels" entry in the registry, set to 96 (dpi), but it only affects... well, that one font that i can't change, and not all the others =)

The spacing between the characters is slightly different, and it's wider on the emulated version
      • 2006-02-02 03344, 2006

      • mustaqila
I prefer the characters being all snug and cuddled up to each other ;)
      • 2006-02-02 03318, 2006

      • LjL
mustaqila: hm you mean on the page or in the interface? i'm not sure i can see that

      • mustaqila
        Hahaha
      • 2006-02-02 03353, 2006

      • LjL
still, the native version uses a lot of anti-aliasing where it really does more evil than good
      • 2006-02-02 03305, 2006

      • LjL
the wine version just hints the fonts decently without anti-aliasing
      • 2006-02-02 03309, 2006

      • mustaqila
        Each to their own
      • 2006-02-02 03314, 2006

      • LjL
anyway - the native version is running under KDE using the GTK-QT wrapper (a theming engine for GTK that just uses QT instead)
      • 2006-02-02 03320, 2006

      • LjL
that's why it doesn't look too well refined
